Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Autism Community Network

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Autism Community Network, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. creffett (talk) 02:16, 28 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Autism Community Network

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Autism Community Network, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
  • It appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement of autismcommunity.org.au/more-about-steve.html. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. creffett (talk) 02:17, 28 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Autism Community Network draft

edit

I'm posting this message here because there's a very good chance that the talk page of your draft will be deleted following the deletion of the main page. You said the following:

"i Have the full rights to use any and all of the information used within this page"

Unfortunately, it's not that simple. As mentioned in the message above: "If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials." You can't copy major parts of a copyrighted work onto Wikipedia even if you have permission to use it - the materials must be released under an appropriate license for anyone to use. Please look at the linked page for further details.

I would also advise that you review the Conflict of Interest guidelines. While you did disclose your conflict of interest (though you should put that on your user page rather than the draft itself), you still need to abide by the relevant rules. In particular, if you are editing as part of your job, that is considered paid editing and you MUST disclose that information (per WP:PAID). If you are editing as a volunteer for the organization, that is still a conflict of interest, though it doesn't trigger the paid editing issues. The short version of what you need to know can be found at the Wikipedia:Plain_and_simple_conflict_of_interest_guide.

To add to what's been said here: Even if your organization was willing to release the text used under the Creative Commons license required by Wikipedia (which means anyone would be allowed to use the material, for any purpose, without needing your permission), we wouldn't accept it anyway, because it is promotional. Wikipedia articles must be written strictly neutrally in both tone and content, and must not promote anyone or anything, not even good causes. Toward that end, for anything to be an acceptable subject for an article, it should have been covered substantially and in depth by multiple reliable and independent sources. Most organizations do not meet this requirement and so we do not and should not have articles about them at all. Seraphimblade Talk to me 04:01, 28 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
