You can put

Article submitted is a candidate for Speedy Deletion

edit

A tag has been placed on your article Puppet Animation Scotland, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person, group of people, or band, but it does not indicate how or why he/she/they is/are notable. If you can indicate why Puppet Animation Scotland is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Puppet Animation Scotland. Any admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. You might also want to read our general biography criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert his/her/their notability, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable. -- Casper2k3 15:34, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Roy Hendry Thomson

edit

Hi, I moved your page on this person to Roy Hendry Thomson. Wikipedia articles on people generally do not include abbreviations and honorifics in the page title. Also, I don't know what KStJ and DL stand for here. If you want to mention these honors in the article (not the title) please spell out what they stand for.

Make sure the article meets Wikipedia's notability requirement. Biographical articles that fail to meet this standard will be deleted. This can happen very quickly in some cases.--Srleffler 17:34, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

John Hewitt

edit

I've reverted your changes. The Irish John Hewitt is more notable than the footballer. I've provided a disambiguation link to the top of the John Hewitt page. Stu ’Bout ye! 11:44, 12 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello Allydross! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 769 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Sir Stephen Young, 3rd Baronet - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. John Michael Hearne - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Proposed deletion of Town and County Hall

edit

The article Town and County Hall has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability; lack of references challenged for more than a year.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Deskford (talk) 13:50, 9 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Joy Bryer moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Joy Bryer, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 21:18, 12 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
