Lorem ipsum (full text) edit

Please stop re-creating this article. It is inappropriate for English Wikipedia because it is not written in English. I have deleted it once, and I don't want to have to do so again. Thanks. · Katefan0(scribble) 20:47, 26 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I see what you've done now. I'm not sure that it's terribly encyclopedic, but it no longer meets the "delete on sight" criteria. Thanks. · Katefan0(scribble) 20:49, 26 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
I've moved this text over to http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Lorem_ipsum since it's a full source text rather than an article about the text itself. There's still a link straight to it from the Lorem ipsum article so this should be a fairly inconsequential change. Bryan 23:21, 19 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Bans and blocks edit

Hi! There is no intention to ban that IP address, only to block it for a specified amount of time if vandalism continues. For shared IP addresses such as this one, the block would probably be quite short (maybe a few hours at worst), so it would not mean the end of future contributions from that address. - ulayiti (talk) 19:47, 12 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Actually it wasn't, it was just someone who didn't bother to start a new topic (or sign, for that matter). It's very nice of you to advise new users on the workings of Wikipedia (and I encourage you to do so), but I think you'd get the message across better if you did that on the talk page of the user in question (in this case User talk:84.68.235.133, where I have already done that to some extent) instead of on mine. :) - ulayiti (talk) 09:36, 13 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Sandbox edit

The sandbox, which you recently protected, is a place for new users to test their editing skills, something that is rather hard to do when they are prevented from editing the page. Not being an administrater myself, I cannot remove the block, but it is imperitive that you or another administrator do so soon.--Akako| 01:43, 11 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

I didn't protect the sandbox, check the logs. I just noticed it was protected and added the tag. --cesarb 14:41, 11 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
I am sorry for the misunderstanding, however, might I inquire as to why you left the protection on the page? --Akako| 19:07, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
Just look at the history prior to the adding of the protection tag; the sandbox was under attack by a vandalbot. The admin who protected it knows a lot more about that particular vandal than I do, so I trusted his judgement and left the protection alone. --cesarb 19:34, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
Ah. Again, I apologize. I see that the protection has been removed, so the problem has been resolved. Thank you for clarifying.--Akako| 20:53, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Wrestling stubs edit

I'll look into these a little after x-mas. I'm in the middle of finals and preperation for the end of the semester at my college. --ZeWrestler Talk 20:15, 4 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Custom user boxes edit

Since *drew is off-line for a few days, I'll presune to point you to Wikipedia:Template messages/User namespace#Userboxes. You can also go into edit mode on user pages to see how different users have customized their user boxes. -- Dalbury(Talk) 20:39, 4 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. That page has been of great help.--Akako| 20:42, 4 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling edit

Sure, I am willing to help in any area that my need improving such as this. Cheers! — Moe ε 20:45, 4 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I'll try to help too. I wrestled in high school - mainly studying folkstyle wrestling. However, I went to a freestyle club for a few months. I'll work out an article sometime this month or next month. Sorry about the delay, but I had finals... -- Jimmy C. 05:45, 22 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Some suggestions edit

Spell-checking: Very few people are great spellers and I know that I'm not one of those great spellers. I use the SpellBound extension in the Mozilla Firefox internet browser to check much of what I write on the Wikipedia, including (sometimes) the talk page messages that I write.

Graphics in your signature: That is generally frowned upon. Any graphic adds greater strain on the Wikipedia servers than just text. Adding a graphic to your signature is an unnecessary strain on the Wikipedia servers.

Robbinsdale School District: I stay away from school articles as much as possible. Your best bet is to find a school district article that is done well, and then try to copy it as much as possible. Because it is an encyclopedia article, you should try to highlight anything that is interesting or unique about the school district. Have there been any lawsuits, or any major awards, etc.

For example, where I live, in the Long Beach Unified School District, the school district has pioneered going back to requiring students wear school uniforms. They have also converted a couple of schools to single-sex schools, which is highly unusual for a public school district. The district also has a one-room school (at Two Harbors on Catalina Island), which is something that may be unique for an urban school district. Those are items that should be covered in the LBUSD article. You also might ask for help at the School WikiProject.

Happy Holidays and Hanukkah userboxes edit

I have created Happy Holidays and Hanukkah userboxes, as per your request on my user talk page. They may be found at User:Andrewh/Holidaybox and User:Andrewh/Hanukkahbox respectively, and you can add them by adding this tag for the Happy Holidays userbox:

{{User:Andrewh/Holidaybox}}

Or this tag for the Hanukkah userbox:

{{User:Andrewh/Hanukkahbox}}

The tags can be placed anywhere on your user page. Andrew 13:12, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Pestaña edit

I don't know the context of this word. Where you it's have you seen? George McFinnigan from Spanish Wikipedia.

I think I can help you. "Pestaña", in that context, means "tab" or "button" :). Mortadelo2005.
Oh, don't mention it! :) Mortadelo2005.

Wikipedia_talk:Censorship edit

A revised version of the proposed policy against censorship is now open for voting. Will you kindly review the policy and make your opinions known? Thank you very much. Loom91 11:12, 6 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Category change edit

Hiya! I fixed a category inclusion on your userpage, hope you don't mind! For some reason, you were included in "WikiProject Stub sorting"...which made your userpage a resource page for the project, instead of "WikiProject Stub sorting participants" which means that now you're listed as a member of the WikiProject. I assume this is what you meant to do. :)

Have a nice day! :D ~Kylu (u|t) 23:59, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Template:User Int edit

A tag has been placed on Template:User Int requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 04:08, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Removal of category from your userpage edit

Hi. In enacting consensus from User categories for discussion, I have removed the category Category:Wikipedians interested in books from your userpage. It was determined in that deletion debate that this category should be depopulated of individuals, but kept as a parent category. If you wish to display a category reflecting your interest in books, please consider one of the specific sub-categories under its umbrella. Thanks, and please excuse the necessary editing of your user page! ----Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:51, 23 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
