Helen Caldicott

Hi,

I'm having a problem with the Helen Caldicott article. Several months ago I deleted the Criticisms section because it was hardly more than gossip--you can read my long post in the discussion section. A few days ago the Criticism section has been added again, a shorter version, and it has been referenced. I looked at the refs and they are atomic energy advocate blogs which I do not feel are unbiased or necessarily factual. I removed them, they were put back, I removed them again and they are back. You can read the discussion.

There is also a problem related to Linus Pauling who nominated Caldicott for a NPP. He is referred to as the "unorthodox Mobel Laureate and alternative medicine advocate" in an addition of a few days ago. I deleted that twice but the person who restores the poorly sourced criticisms reverts that also.

I hope you can help me out here.

Thanks, gandydancer

Fair use rationale for Image:Simple English Wikipedia logo.png

Image:Simple English Wikipedia logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I was NOT PLAYING AROUND with the article. I was UPDATING it because if you click on the actual college's site, you get a different number than posted on the Stanford article! I am sure a user of your status would want Wikipedia to be accurate, so next time check the facts before you delete something I post. I don't post crap.

To be more accurate I changed Duke's acrage from 8,610 to 8,709(the number posted on the Duke U. article on Wikipedia). If you are going to change my number you better change that one too, Abeg.

Re: Deletion of Dryve article

Hello, it appears you were involved in the deletion of the article on the band 'Dryve'.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Dryve_%28second_nomination%29

I was a founding member of this band and would occasionally add current information to the page. It seems the two main points of contention were first, the involvement of a banned wikiuser named Jason Gastrich, and second, is the article's information is unverifiable. I would like to request the article be reinstated on the following grounds-

I can fully verify any and all of the information in the article.

There is sufficient verifiable information to meet the WP/music requirements for inclusion in Wikipedia.

As far as this Jason Gastrich character goes, I do vaguely remember him frequenting the Dryve performances in San Diego and I do believe he briefly played with former Dryve bass player Michael Pratschner after Dryve had disbanded. If he in fact did start the page as one admin claimed, his personal character deficits do not negate the validity of the subject matter of which I looked over quite a bit to insure it's accuracy.

Please contact me if you would like more information.

Unusual Adoption Request

Hi! Im an English teacher in Toluca Mexico (west of Mexico City). My Advanced B classes will be contributing to Wikipedia as the focus of their English course for Fall 2007. I am looking for people who would like to mentor my students (who will be working in groups) as they do the following assignments: Edit and article (adding a citation), writing a stub with a citation, translating an English language article for Spanish Wikipedia and for the final project, writing a full article for English Wiki (they can expand on the stub mentioned previously). What I would like to do is put a list of "mentors/adopters" on my talk page as a kind of short cut for my students, who have limited time to get things done. The semester begings Aug 6, but the real Wikipedia work wont begin until the beginning of Sept. If you would like to add your name to my list, please go to my talk page and add it there, perhaps with a short introduction, if you like.

Thank you!
