"Research before you delete"

edit

Re: this and this, the surest way to avoid confusion from other editors is to 1) add proper sourcing when you add content and 2) clearly explain your edits. And while the lead does often repeat content found elsewhere, often it does not, especially for unreleased films, which haven't always generated enough news attention to be reliably sourced. Per WP:LEAD, "Because the lead will usually repeat information that is in the body, editors should balance the desire to avoid redundant citations in the lead with the desire to aid readers in locating sources for challengeable material. ... The presence of citations in the introduction is neither required in every article nor prohibited in any article." So, if challenged, references would be very helpful. Oh, and it's not editors' responsibility to research externally before deleting content. Anyone who adds content needs to be sure the content is properly sourced. If the content is properly sourced within the article already, then perhaps you'd have a stronger argument, but the blanket statement "research before you delete" is not a reasonable expectation, as unsourced content may be challenged and removed if unsourced.
