Proposed deletion of Chris Gulker edit

The article Chris Gulker has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable individual appears to fail WP:BIO.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ttonyb (talk) 18:19, 12 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Articles for deletion nomination of Chris Gulker edit

I have nominated Chris Gulker, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chris Gulker. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. ttonyb (talk) 01:51, 15 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

What a great job you are doing on the article Dave Winer edit

You really are pulling together so many loose threads that have accumulated over years and weaving them into a coherent, interesting article. I really appreciate the time and thought you put into making Wikipedia better for everybody. betsythedevine (talk) 00:17, 22 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I've merely been been pulling the "coverage" out of the "Coverage and interviews" section, putting it into the article body instead. ARK (talk) 11:48, 22 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ark, the Dave Winer page is mostly fluff. A lot of those things are clearly from the company and he did not invent podcasting, rss, or anything else. Lets be fair.--Irelan12 (talk) 18:46, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to 2011 Tottenham riots, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Hi Teapot -- thanks for reverting that piece of vandalism. I can assure you that I did not post it, although it appears under my name (please review my posting history to confirm this statement). I have no idea how this has happened, and I'm rather concerned, frankly, as it looks like my account has been compromised. ARK (talk) 16:20, 7 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Chris gulker.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Chris gulker.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Brianga (talk) 16:09, 15 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Thatcamp-logo.svg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Thatcamp-logo.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:48, 18 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Two requests for addition edit

Hello. May I request an edit for The Jagadish Vasudeva page. In the awards section, one important award must be included. It is - Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Award which is the highest national award for promotion of sports. It has been given to Jagadish Vasudeva. Kindly include it. Another request is the mention of another NY Times bestselling book which is a recent one. It is called "Karma - A Yogi's Guide to Crafting Your Destiny". It has been praised by people like Will Smith, Tom Brady, Tony Robbins, Matthew McConaughey Deepak Chopra, among many others. It is extremely important that this book is mentioned in his Wikipedia page.

Thanks, I've added both. The award went to Isha Foundation, however, so I wrote it up there. ARK (talk) 22:33, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

July 2023 edit

Hello, ARK. I noticed that your recent edit to Calanca added a link to an image on an external website or on your computer, or to a file name that does not exist on Wikipedia's server. For technical and policy reasons it is not possible to use images from external sources on Wikipedia. Most images you find on the internet are copyrighted and cannot be used on Wikipedia, or their use is subject to certain restrictions. If the image meets Wikipedia's image use policy, consider uploading it to Wikipedia yourself or request that someone else upload it. See the image tutorial to learn about wiki syntax used for images. Thank you. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 23:43, 28 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Sumanuil: Thanks for catching this error! In 2020, a government body of the Swiss canton of Graubünden issued a full set of the canton's municipal coats of arms in SVG format, among other formats. I'm in the process of uploading these 101 files to Wikimedia Commons and replacing the older, non-official arms in the respective municipalities' Wikipedia articles. Thus, I uploaded the official arms of the municipality of Calanca and inserted it to a number of Wikipedia articles. When adding it to the English Wikipedia, I slipped up and, without noticing, used an incorrect file name. This caused the error you did notice. I shall now add the file to the English Wikipedia's article on Calanca using the correct file name. ARK (talk) 08:53, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
