Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. January 2010 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Selena, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted by ClueBot.

  • Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.
  • Cluebot produces very few false positives, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been detected as unconstructive, please report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again.
  • The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Selena was changed by AJona1992 (u) (t) deleting 7895 characters on 2010-01-26T22:16:34+00:00 . Thank you. ClueBot (talk) 22:16, 26 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Selena edit

Hi, Jonathan.

Here's the link, diff, to your edit in which you added Category:Mexican musicians. That's what my edit was about. SamEV (talk) 01:50, 1 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oh ok, sorry. I know Selena is Mexican-American but yea someone should if not created; create Category:Mexican-American musicians, thanks! AJona1992 (talk)

I cleaned up your changes. My edit had to do with grammar, punctuation, and such, but also with Wikipedia's formatting style. See Talk:Selena for more.
I'm neither for or against your changes. If they get reverted, try talking it over with the reverter, rather than repeating your edits. But if, if you do restore your edits, I ask that you restore to a cleaned up version, such as this last one, or an even newer one; then perhaps make any further changes to that version. Repeating your recent edits would put the same errors back into the article. Remember, this is a featured article, so we should make sure that it always looks nice for all of its readers.
Take care, Jonathan. SamEV (talk) 06:36, 2 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
See the links in the welcome message above. The specific guide you asked for might be WP:BETTER. Good luck. SamEV (talk) 01:01, 3 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Those edits you just did need heavy cleanup. I'd do it, by I can't right now. If you want, create a sandbox with your version of the article. I'll then help clean it up tomorrow, so you can load it into the article afterwards. To create a sandbox just write "/sandbox" in your browser's address bar, after your user name. SamEV (talk) 18:20, 21 February 2010 (UTC); 18:27, 21 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I will, later in the day. Remind me if I forget. SamEV (talk) 17:53, 23 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I see that you haven't created the sandbox. Click here to create it with your version of the article. Then message me on my talk page if you want my help editing those changes. SamEV (talk) 17:57, 24 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Excellent. I'll go look at some articles and then edit it. SamEV (talk) 22:21, 26 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I just edited it. See the edit summary and also the sandbox's talk page. SamEV (talk) 04:29, 27 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Cite error fixed. SamEV (talk) 17:56, 27 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oh... I thought you were going to make some more changes to the sandbox, such as putting back a few sentences that were in your first version of the sandbox.

I added the refs section to fix the cite error, but it needs to be removed before you add that content to the Selena article, because the Selena article already has a refs section. SamEV (talk) 18:11, 27 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Don't worry about the cite error message. It won't show in the Selena article. SamEV (talk) 18:13, 27 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

If the cite error shows up in the Selena article, I'll fix it, so don't worry about it.

Now remember: I don't necessarily endorse your changes. I'm only trying to make sure that they're presentable. Good luck. SamEV (talk) 18:20, 27 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I said it just above: it won't show up in the real article. The reason you see it in the sandbox is only because the sandbox version has no References section. But if somehow it shows up, I'll fix it anyway. SamEV (talk) 01:16, 10 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

OK, there you go, Jonathan: User:AJona1992/sandbox. Now it doesn't have a cite error. But if you ever add that content to the article, just remember to remove "==References==" and "{{reflist}}" beforehand, so the Selena article doesn't end up with two References sections. SamEV (talk) 00:57, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

P.S. I'm done for the day, so if you do make any changes, I won't be able to help today. SamEV (talk) 00:59, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

All right, I'll have a look later. SamEV (talk) 22:57, 13 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hey, Jon. I hope to do some work on the sandbox Saturday or Sunday. SamEV (talk) 02:10, 24 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ok, just send me a message when your done, thanks!!! AJona1992 (talk) 03:25, 24 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'd like you to load the content piecemeal, instead of at once, because I may have to review some of it. I mean especially the sources you gave in the paragraphs before she gets married: I don't think I tried verifying them when I edited that content a few weeks ago, and if you load everything at once it might overwhelm me if I have to read them all at once. Do you know what I mean? So I'd like for you to add the content maybe a paragraph, or two at most, per day.
But don't forge that, obviously, there are other users who will have their own opinions of these changes you're making. SamEV (talk) 06:50, 29 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yep, finished. SamEV (talk) 01:22, 18 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Selenaagree.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Selenaagree.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. — ξxplicit 06:33, 2 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

File:Selenaliveinconcert.jpg edit

First, this image is orphaned which means it is subject to deletion unless it is used in an article within seven days of being tagged. Second, it's orphaned because it is entirely inappropriate to place a fair use image of a performer on that performer's discography. If you cast about the project, you will be hard pressed to find another discography which has a fair use image of a performer. If a person needs to see what Selena looks like, they can go to Selena, which has many images of her. Please stop re-instating this or any other non-free image to Selena discography. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 14:07, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • We know the artist is notable. That's why there is an article on her at Selena. We don't place fair use images on discographies. They are in fact not needed, as a person can readily go to the artist's main page to see images of them. --Hammersoft (talk) 17:58, 23 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • That's the problem. The image is NOT free. Is there a language barrier here? Do you understand what copyrighted means? --Hammersoft (talk) 18:04, 23 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
      • That doesn't make it free. It's copyrighted, and marked as such. Just because something is available on the web for public viewing doesn't make it free of copyright. You can't just take something you found on the web somewhere and declare it free. It doesn't work that way. --Hammersoft (talk) 18:08, 23 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • Fine, they say it can be used. That doesn't make it free. We don't accept permission to use imagery. It must be released under a free license. Furthermore, I can't anywhere on that web site where they state the release as you claim. Prove it. --Hammersoft (talk) 18:21, 23 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • I was copying all of my responses here to your talk page so that you would not make the mistake of continuing to revert war to your preferred version of the discography while discussion was going on between us. That was for naught, as you chose to do so anyways. You've therefore left my no choice but to report this incident to WP:AN/I. Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#User:AJona1992_and_Selena_discography. Good day, --Hammersoft (talk) 18:32, 23 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please do not engage in Wikipedia:Edit warring over this non-free image. It is very, very unlikely that this use would meet the non-free content policy. See here and especially the part that says "The use of non-free media (whether images, audio or video clips) in galleries, discographies, and navigational and user-interface elements generally fails the test for significance (criterion #8)." Please do read the pages I've linked to. If you have questions, let me know. Angus McLellan (Talk) 00:20, 24 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Non-free images edit

Please do not revert my edit, as you did here, without explanation. As I explained in my edit summary, I removed those non-free images because they are in violation of our non-free content criteria policy, which states Multiple items of non-free content are not used if one item can convey equivalent significant information. There's only need for one non-free file as the rest wouldn't meet the criteria noted above. Please use the edit summary in the future to explain your edits, thank you. — ξxplicit 18:12, 6 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Articles for deletion nomination of Pop sampler (Selena single) edit

I have nominated Pop sampler (Selena single), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pop sampler (Selena single). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars (talk) 23:28, 8 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

DYK Nomination for Como La Flor (song) edit

I've turned this nomination down as the expansion started a lot more than 5 days ago and isn't at 5x yet - also you weren't the expander unless the IP 67.189.173.65 was you as well. Finally, when adding a nomination try not to mess up earlier nominations as you did to 'Dante's Dream'. Before making another nomination please familiarise yourself with the DYK rules, feel free to ask me if you have any questions about all this. Cheers, Mikenorton (talk) 14:57, 24 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ok, and Yes I was the one who added all that information on April 7, 2010 as you can see "AJona1992" is below that person you are referring to. And I won't I didn't know how to nominate an article and was a little bit frustrated that there wasn't any help haha but ok. AJona1992 (talk) 15:16, 24 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
That's fine, I didn't mean to come over as annoyed, sorry if that's how it reads. Working out the amount of expansion of an article is never easy, there's a handy little add-on called 'DYK check' that makes it easier, which I can explain about adding if you're ever interested. I don't want to put anyone off from nominating articles to DYK, I made plenty of blunders when I first started putting some of mine forward. The rules probably seem rather picky, but now that I've started reviewing nominations as well, I'm getting to understand why they're there. It's not a bad idea just to watch the suggestions page for a while, as most things come up there. Cheers, Mikenorton (talk) 15:25, 24 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

April 16 edit

Hello. Your recent edit to April 16 has been reverted because it doesn't comply with Wikipedia guidelines. Wikicalendar guidelines state that only observances that occur on the same date each year and are the subject of their own Wikipedia article should be added to calendar articles. Additionally, entries should only be made for holidays and observances that are widely celebrated as such and not just dates on which certain events occur. Refer to WP:DOY for details on what are acceptable entries in Wikicalendar articles. Also, please don't add a "do not delete" comment to your entries as it is not a good method to make an argument for inclusion. If you have any questions or concerns, please start a discussion at Talk:April 16, but please don't add the entry back without consideration of consensus. Thank you. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 12:08, 6 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Edit warring edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on List of best-selling albums in the United States. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. — ξxplicit 20:52, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Ranchersampler.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Ranchersampler.jpg.

Your GA nomination of Selena ¡VIVE! edit

The article Selena ¡VIVE! you nominated as a WP:Good Article status. Unfortunately, it failed   as it needs alot of work. Please see the review page for what needs to be worked on. Please take the time and work on it. TbhotchTalk C. 02:50, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Selena Etc. GA nomination edit

Hi there, I've reviewed Selena Etc. against the GA criteria and unfortunately it doesn't meet the criteria at this time. I have left some comments at the review page. I think you may have been a little premature in nominating so many articles. Have a read over Wikipedia:Good article criteria for more information and try to compare the articles you're working on to other articles that are currently GA or FA. Peer review is a good first step for developing articles. For future reference, you need to add a template to the top of the talkpage of the article you're nominating, as described in the instructions at WP:GAN. Feel free to ask if you have any questions I didn't address in the review. Regards, --BelovedFreak 20:21, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Also, just to let you know that I removed your nomination for Selena discography from the WP:GAN page because lists don't get to be GAs for some reason. You could nominate it for featured list, but I would strongly recommend taking it to peer review first.--BelovedFreak 20:28, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your GA nomination of Selena products edit

Regarding your GA nomination of Selena products, I have failed it and removed it from the nominations list, as it is not close to being ready for such a nomination. I cannot give it a review in the usual place, because you did not complete the nomination correctly (see step 3 of "How to nominate an article" at WP:GAN), so I will explain it here. The basic problems are: an almost complete lack of sources and references for the article (this alone is enough to disqualify it), a very inconsistent formatting of book titles (should be in italics), album titles (italics), and song titles (double quotes); some troubles with English usage; and the fact that most of the article is comprised of lists, which means it isn't eligible for "good article" status.

I'd strongly suggest you'd refrain from further GA nominations for a while, and instead study what existing GA articles look like and try to emulate them. Wasted Time R (talk) 03:48, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Selena edit

Hello, I see you have reverted the edits I have done. But I only put the unofficial web site because Crash Bandicoot allows it. So is Selena the only page not allowed to have sites like that? AJona1992 (talk) 15:53, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

But there is a big difference between both article Selena is a WP:FA and Crash Bandicoot (character) (I think you refered to this article), is not, either, a WP:FA nor WP:GA. TbhotchTalk C. 19:19, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
So your saying that only non FA's and GA's are allowed to have unofficial web sites? AJona1992 (talk) 19:23, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Mo, I am saying that non-FAs or GAs are in control and the additions of unsourced content, vandalism or other kind of editions deface them. Also, per WP:ELNO it is not allowed. TbhotchTalk C. 19:40, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello,
Be aware that if I need another time to spend one hour to delete your cross-wiki stubs I may ask some blocks against you. No rules doesn't mean you can do whatever you want...
I hope it's just a one shot mistake.

Umm, AJona? That's not very helpful. If you keep acting immature and disruptive you'll be blocked in no-time, which means no editing Selena articles. "Haters ain't got shit on me". Oh, I could think of a few things we've gotten already on your behavior. Anyway, I would advise you start acting mature if you're serious about editing here. Mike Allen 00:36, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Also, are you letting friends or someone on your account, or is possible that someone is accessing your account without your knowledge? Mike Allen 00:39, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Mike why are you here? first off AJona1992 is ME I don't let no one access my account I don't do sock or w.e its called anymore Jonaboy1992 was an OLD account but I wanted a new one. AJona1992 (talk) 01:43, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'm here because your page is on my watchlist from the last conversation we've had. I don't want to see you blocked so was giving you some advice to avoid it. I didn't suggest that you were socking; I was asking if somehow your account got compromised. That is all. Mike Allen 02:54, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well next time you can do a little better with the advice because what you said "which means no editing Selena articles. "Haters ain't got shit on me". Oh, I could think of a few things we've gotten already on your behavior. " was not a "good" way to give me advice becuz like on The Bad Girls Club you have made some remarks about things that weren't cool either. I'm just saying and I'm not being rude or anything like that. AJona1992 (talk) 03:46, 25 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Asking you to cut out the personal attacks before you get blocked is not good advice, or "cool"? I could have easily endorsed the AN/I discussion to block you for unwarranted personal attacks and being disruptive. I didn't. Oh, and commented on BGC talk page. That's the same stunt you pulled with taking my comments about Tanisha Thomas out of context, when I commented about the article, not about the person. Please stop your wild accusations. Mike Allen 04:09, 25 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Mike I wasn't talking about that, I was talking about what you was trying to say to me. And it seemed like you was talking stuff about her and I only told you about it to stop it becuz it can be offensive. *Ends this "talk" ttyl* AJona1992 (talk) 04:52, 25 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello Jonathan. Please calm down and don't insult other editors. If you continue to make attacks then you may end up blocked, so please don't. Although it's not the concern of English Wikipedians, you will have more success with creating articles about Selena on other Wikipedias if you work with local editors to translate them; dumping in stubs in English isn't constructive. Ok, your edit to Selena was not good (since I can't "attack you") in a way because that information had been there for nearly a year and that statement is true, so since you like to "think" all my owned pictures are not owned every time I upload them and now this so all I just said was that so anyways back to editing yea I just don't think you should of undone that, I think it wasn't a really good one at that. TTYL AJona1992 (talk) 13:30, 25 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
I undid your edits at Selena because you kept adding categories that are redundant to others already listed. As I mentioned in my edit summary, WP:CAT#Categorizing pages, only the most specific categories are used when categorizing pages. The "Selena attained further notability in North America after she was murdered..." statement may have been there for a year, but it was unsourced for all that time. When making claims like that, you need to add a reliable source to verify the claim. As for the images, as I had explained when nominating them for deletion, owning a photo of someone doesn't automatically allow you to claim it as your own work and release under a free license. The person who took the picture—whoever that may be—is the copyright holder and the only person who can change its copyright status. If someone in your family took the picture and they would like to release it under a free license, they can email the volunteer response team at permissions-en@wikimedia.org with the picture attached and they can specify which license they wuold like to release the photo under, see the copyrights policy with legal considerations for further information. I should point out that if a free image of Selena is made available, all the images under fair use which are used to illustrate who Selena looked like (for example, File:Selena09.jpg and File:Selenaagree.jpg) would become eligible for speedy deletion due to our strict non-free content criteria, as non-free content is not used when freely licensed content is available. — ξxplicit 19:21, 25 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
So why removed categories from Selena but yet other singers are allowed to have them, and they are FA and GA status? this just doesn't sound right, this sounds more like your just a hater and don't want the proper stuff for the Selena article (not attacking you) but that's what it seems like. I have contacted them about a week ago, and still haven't received a response. But I know that you editors who dislike her are just going to delete them anyways because you "think" they aren't free, I wish I could be an admin and just delete Rihanna, Sean Paul, Jennifer Lopez, etc., pics becuz I just feel very strongly that they aren't free. But anyways what can I do, nothing. So it's whatever I really just don't care anymore, but I'm not going to let you guys just remove stuff because you "think" that its not right, free, or for w.e reason there may be, have a nice day lolz AJona1992 (talk) 21:10, 25 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why reply to someone who's stubborn? There's no reasoning or compromise with you, it's all or nothing. I've already explained several policies and guidelines every user and article need to abide by, but as long as other articles violate them, you feel the need to violate them across the board. — ξxplicit 16:54, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Your stubborn, I'm doing what I "believe" is right, like how you "believe" everything I do is WRONG WRONG WRONG, why can't you "try" to bully other people, clearly you failed with me. AJona1992 (talk) 21:06, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
What you believe is right is clearly wrong, and I've explained why it is wrong by linking relevant policies and guidelines. For example, I explained above that pages are categorized in the most specific categories there are, yet you went on to re-add several just today [1] [2]. All you've done is reply with an attitude, make false claims of bullying and calling me a "hater". You're ignoring everything that's being done to steer you into the right direction and creating more problems with more users throughout the site. Unless you plan to admit you're wrong and to abide by policies and guidelines, you're just heading for an indefinite block for disruptive editing. — ξxplicit 21:27, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Because you guys constantly "make up" rules like crosswiki, asking for translations, creating stubs, free images, not allowed to say "ignorant" and "stubborn" and more, why am I being in trouble when you guys do the same thing to me? But I am willing to try to work by the rules.

I tried reasoning with you guys yet you keep ignoring me if I have to SCREAM, YELL, and do such just to get a photo then by all means, you guys keep ignoring me about my photos and that gets me upset, that's not being a CHILD, if you don't like my "talk backs" then don't mess with me, becuz I talk right BACK. Secondly I am not the ONLY Selena lover on this wiki so what are you trying to say here? oh wait your a MJ lover so you don't get it either. Yea I might be GONE but ohhhhh I ain't the ONLY fan here there will be edits edits edits and more edits by other fans, but oh yea I forgot you guys "think" she is NOTHING well here comes more of my fury, Selena is way more famous than what you guys "think", Selena fans out there, don't listen to this guy he just doesn't like Selena and so forth, he will attack you again AGAIN and AGAIN. Now tell me am I right or am I right? *Applauds* keep trying to bring me down, it's NEVER going to work dude. I will always keep uploading my wonderful family's personal photos and love for Selena and you can't tell me NO. LOLZ AJona1992 (talk) 13:56, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hey, I notice there's some fuss going on; let me try to help out. Okay? (Longer message to follow; this one is just to get your attention.) DS (talk) 14:40, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Okay, let's see. First, we do appreciate your efforts to have the Selena article be as high-quality as possible. Uploading images to illustrate the articles is helpful. The problem is, you're not doing it right.
The thing is, Selena died when you were two and a half years old. (You put your date of birth on your userpage, remember?) So when you upload a picture of her and say "I (AJona1992) created this work entirely by myself"... at the very least, we'd need more details, because how could such a little kid take such a high-quality photograph?
The answer is -- as you've since mentioned -- that this was a photo owned by your family. This means that you did not create the work "entirely by yourself": scanning a photo doesn't count as "creating" it. We need to know who took it (your grandma? your mom?), and the circumstances under which it was taken (where? when?).
I understand that you don't want to be disrespected or bullied, but what you have to realize is that this is a legal thing. There's stuff that's allowed, stuff that's not allowed, and stuff that's in a gray area... and we try to stay out of the gray area as much as possible. Wikipedia has to cover its ass as much as possible, just in case.
It's true that we have a lot more free photos of people like J.Lo than of Selena, but that's because those people are alive during a time when lots of people have digital cameras and are willing to donate their photos to Wikipedia. Once someone dies, no new free pictures of them can be made.
I hope this helps; feel free to ask me if you've got any problems. I might not be immediately available, but I'll do what I can as soon as I can. DS (talk) 15:28, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thank you guys so much, I really needed this help! Please keep helping me out here I really do need it thanks! AJona1992 (talk) 16:22, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Okay, good. Glad to hear it. Can you provide more details about those photos? DS (talk) 19:00, 28 July 2010 (UTC)|rev2Score = (7/10) [1]Reply
Ok both my grandmother and mother became Selena fans back in the early 1990s, my grandmother used to live in Corpus Christi, Texas and began attending her concerts and taking pictures. I can ask both my mom and grandmother when and where they were taken if you want! I was born in 1992 but in New Jersey, when Selena died both my grandmother and mother watched everything on the TV, magazines, newspapers, and radio stations around Jersey and I was always around my grandma and mother, and as I grew up they kept playing her songs while they clean, or on the radio, by this time we all moved to Orlando, Florida. And in 2002 they all gave me their collections (pictures, signatures, vhs tapes, etc). I didn't know nothing about wikipedia until I was in High School and seeing that the article was lacking information, not enough information, and just only one photo. At that time I didn't know how to edit, create, upload, etc., but I later learned. So now I keep uploading them but they keep getting deleted because these people believe that I don't own them because they see them everywhere which is true, there's Selena message boards every where, where fans, like me, share photos to everyone and for fan sites alike. So it's fair that they want to just delete it because they "think" it's not free, which got me pissed off. AJona1992 (talk) 19:12, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Okay, good. The thing is, because we've had so many dumb people who think "oh, a picture is online, I don't know where it came from, I'll say it's public domain and upload it to Wikipedia!", we've had to go with the policy of assuming that a photo is not free unless someone can prove that it is. So what we'll need is "this photo of Selena performing at (the Nacogdoches Concert Hall or wherever), (May 1993 or whenever), was taken by the grandmother/mother of user:AJona1992; she agrees to release it under the terms of the CC-BY-SA 3.0 License". DS (talk) 12:34, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Ok I have all the photos, just which one you need? The one I uploaded as free (Selena live in 1994)? Ok and how do I do this? I sent the message to that place everyone's been asking me about 3-5 days ago. AJona1992 (talk) 15:09, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
We need all that information for each photo that's categorized as 'free'. If you can't provide that information -- who took it, where, when, and whether they release it under a Wikipedia-compatible license -- we have to assume it's not free. Although since it's impossible to have any new free pictures of Selena, we can use non-free photos as "fair use" as long as each non-free photo has an individual fair use rationale. DS (talk) 13:41, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for taking long, the picture was taken in the San Antonio Texas Fair on June 11, 1994 in San Antonio, Texas. AJona1992 (talk) 17:31, 1 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
For the Grammy Award picture, which was taken by my mother on March 1, 1994 in Radio City Music Hall, New York. My mom took four pictures of her during this time. And I think that's all I uploaded as "free". I have way more but until these photos can be placed I won't upload any more. Thanks AJona1992 (talk) 00:17, 2 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Okay, so add information to the photo: "Photo taken at the San Antonio, Texas Fair on June 11, 1994, by the mother of user:AJon1992, who agrees to release it under the terms of the CC-BY-SA 3.0 license and the GFDL" (and then the Grammy information the same way, etc). DS (talk) 20:05, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
If the pictures are already on commons, add the info to the pages on commons. If they're not on commons, add the info here. DS (talk) 23:38, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
You should NOT say "Entirely my own work - I created it, own all the rights to it, and have not used anyone else's work in making it", because some are by your MOTHER and some are by your GRANDMOTHER, and if you say it's entirely your own work, that would be a lie. DS (talk) 01:30, 10 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
For "permission", put {{OTRS pending}}, and then write to <permissions-commons@wikimedia.org> and explain the situation. DS (talk) 02:13, 10 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

User sandbox edit

I have moved your sandbox to User:AJona1992/Sandbox, to your own userspace, so it's out of projectspace. --Patar knight - chat/contributions 14:50, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Jonathan, here's a link to the contents of your last version of the Selena article, in a sandbox I tried to create (I changed my mind. Don't recreate it, paste the contents into the old sandbox): [5]. SamEV (talk) 07:56, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

P.S. I couldn't find your sandbox. You moved it around in such a way that what was supposedly your sandbox was actually your old talk page archive. I've just renamed the archive and place a link to it at the top of this page. SamEV (talk) 08:04, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

P.P.S I forgot to mention that the second sandbox also contains some changes of my own in the lead. SamEV (talk) 01:40, 31 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

What's wrong with this stupid thing? I edit and ADDED MORE information to it and it's not there anymore. AJona1992 (talk) 19:18, 31 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
