Orphaned non-free media (File:Thirty_Four.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Thirty_Four.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 01:47, 25 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Thirty Four

edit

The article Thirty Four has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable book by non-notable author. Guardian piece was written by the author.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nancy talk 13:37, 26 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Non Free Files in your User Space

Hey there AGEX, thank you for your contributions! I am a bot alerting you that Non-free files are not allowed in the user or talk-space. I removed some files that I found on User:AGEX/Thirty Four. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use files to your user-space drafts or your talk page.

Articles for deletion nomination of Thirty Four

edit

I have nominated Thirty Four, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Thirty Four. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Nancy talk 06:18, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I see that, following the above-mentioned Article for Deletion nomination, you removed the AfD notice from the article, moved the article to the "article incubator", and left a redirect to at it under the article's title. Please note that AfD notices say "this notice must not be removed, until the discussion is closed". It is not acceptable to get round this by removing the notice and moving the article elsewhere: the AfD notice "must not be removed", not "must not be removed unless you move the article to somewhere else". In addition, I am told that the article has already spent 3 months in the incubator. The "article incubator" is meant to be a short term measure to allow preparation of an article, not a place for it to slip back to in order to avoid deletion after it has had adequate time for preparation. Speedy deletion nomination of Thirty Four

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Thirty Four, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
