Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, ABFoundatio. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. KylieTastic (talk) 14:31, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for this Kylie, should I have someone else submitt it? ABFoundatio (talk) 14:56, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Firstly there is an issue of your name which breaks our Wikipedia:Username policy as it does not represent an individual, but can be changed via Wikipedia:Changing username. Secondly you can edit with a WP:COI but it is strongly discouraged as it is very difficult to be truly neutral. If you did choose to continue you must disclose your COI per the notice above. Lastly note all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). You currently have no sources let alone any independent ones, so finding such sources is the first step for writing any article. Hope that explains things a bit more. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 15:10, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes it does thank you, so I can remove my name and just put founded and send you coverage of insurance? Because this is not an event what should I say its for? ABFoundatio (talk) 15:16, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
You can apply to have your name changed via Wikipedia:Changing username. No things like documentation of insurance just show existence of a subject not that is notable in Wikipedia terms. The key is a subject like this requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple, independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Doing a google new news articles about "The Ahmad butler Foundation" only turns up a few local articles, which means it probably is not, yet, notable enough. KylieTastic (talk) 15:29, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
So are you saying you don't think it will go through or that I should wait a bit? ABFoundatio (talk) 15:45, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Unless you can find 3+ independent sources with significant coverage of the foundation it is probably just not notable enough at this time. KylieTastic (talk) 15:49, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
We have more than three news sources will that work? ABFoundatio (talk) 16:02, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
How do I remove "by his grandmother, Latanya Morrison, who wanted"? ABFoundatio (talk) 15:20, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.
