COI

edit

Hello, you seem to be here with the sole purpose of promoting Cherie & Marie Currie. Please review WP:COI and, more important, Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. You will note that we are quite clear about not being a place for promotions. I've removed the information you keep inserting into the Steve Lukather article because it is very poorly sourced and, honestly, not at all relevant to his professional career and why he is notable. --Laser brain (talk) 04:34, 17 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Cherie Currie, but you didn't provide a reliable source.   Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Joan Jett, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Mlpearc (open channel) 20:52, 19 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to use disruptive, inappropriate or hard-to-read formatting, as you did at Joan Jett, you may be blocked from editing. There is a Wikipedia Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Stop violating the instructions found at Template:Infobox musical artist#instrument which specifies that the only instruments which can be listed are ones that the artist is primarily known for. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Joan Jett. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount and can lead to a block, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection.
