The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Rhinns-of-kells-from-craignaw.JPG fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Rhinns-of-kells-from-craignaw.JPG, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Heads up edit

Just a heads up, there's a problem with the copyrighting of some of the images you've uploaded. I appreciate you've been inactive, but if you're around and would be able to head over to Wikipedia:Copyright_problems/2007_September_19/Images to comment on the situation, that would be excellent. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Heel-lift-on-diamir.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Heel-lift-on-diamir.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 17:14, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for September 15 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Andean peaks with known pre-Columbian ascents, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Puma and Galan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Question about your photos edit

Greetings,

can you tell me where the photos such as File:Sierra-Nevada-de-Lagunas-Bravas.jpg come from? If you made the photos yourself that's fine, but if you received them from someone else you need their permission before you can upload them. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 17:38, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi there, All the photos I have recently been uploading to Wikipedia are my own work, or very occasionally taken by someone else on my camera. There are lots of people questioning these photos, I hope you can pass the message on. I haven't been active on Wikipedia for a while, but lockdown got really boring and it started raining here! I have used three digital cameras over the years. A big heavy Canon EOS from 2008 to about 2014 (on and off) a lighter (Canon I think) from about 2012 or so through to 2016 when it broke down, currently I have a Panasonic TZ-210. The photos lacking Exif tags will be older than 2008 when I still used a film camera. Slides all scanned into my computer by me. The particular photo you asked about, File:Sierra-Nevada-de-Lagunas-Bravas.jpg is one of these. I've been running expeditions to the Andes since 1989, and have climbed more (different) peaks out there than anyone else in the world. So I have a huge number of photos, about 10,000. All those published on my www.andes.org.uk website are my own copyright unless explicitly stated. I have written several guidebooks to the Andes, the latest edition is ISBN 978-09536087-6-8, just as proof of my authenticity. I hope that is enough for you not to doubt my genuine contributions. As an aside is there some way of tagging me as an expert on the Andes mountians (mainly from the mountaineering point of view)? Because every time I start editing on Wikipedia I get this same issue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2005biggar (talkcontribs)

I see. I'll inform the Commons discussion. If someone else took a photo, then you probably should ask for the deletion of these photos ... copyright gets really complicated then. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 11:40, 22 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

OK. Thats great. I'll review the photos I've uploaded in the last few days just in case they were taken by someone else (usually my wife) on my camera, but there are not likely to be any.
