User name

edit

As it is there is no specific rule against scripts of languages other than roman script in user names, however it would be a good idea to WP:AGF to identify your user name, as most users will not have the capacity to understand what the script is, or what it means. JarrahTree 10:12, 12 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

@JarrahTree: It's Jai Shri Ram in Kannada script. Just like User:જય_શ્રી_રામ in Gujarati script. Both accounts have edited a very similar range of pages, with a very similar pattern. Add to this User:Ikomengramaditya, and you have three accounts doing very similar (and equally disruptive) things in an overlapping range of articles. –Austronesier (talk) 20:19, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh, and there's also User:Crazybangladesiooooha and User:Gombreng demen ngedit, not to forget the WP:LOUT-socking from 3 March to 6 March. All these accounts edit sequentially, so somebody should file an SPI (has it always to be me? *sigh*) and have at least the previous account blocked to prevent abusive editing. –Austronesier (talk) 20:35, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Bbb23 and DougWeller: see also Indo-Scythians. This is not a newbie. Joshua Jonathan - Let's talk! 05:37, 15 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Austronesier take a good care there dear Austronesier. But as long as I know, the behavior of two accounts you mentioned on idwiki is enough to indicate some act of sockpuppetry—and yes, they also share the same article topic and IP range along with the fact that certain sockmaster likes to make other-than-latin-script username. :) /ɲə/-lvoskt (bicara) 12:38, 15 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Joshua Jonathan and Austronesier: This is too complicated to handle on the fly. One of you should file a report at WP:SPI.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:36, 15 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, I'm Austronesier. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Javanese people, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Austronesier (talk) 17:50, 13 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Understanding English and Wikipedia

edit

Please note that the Javanese people are not a tribe. Nor are Hindu people a tribe.

In my way of understanding english, you might have something somewhere that disagrees,

it would be very good to see it.

If you want help for the distinction between ethnic and religious difference, and what

that means when contributing to an online encyclopedia like wikipedia, please ask!

Please understand also that the usage of the word vandalism for things that you might not agree with is a problem. If you do not clarify, you will be very easily misunderstood.

In view of wanting to sustain a particular way of understanding Hindu identity on wikipedia - please look very carefully at WP:ABOUT and WP:NOT - you might be in the wrong place. JarrahTree 03:03, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

  Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Loloan Malays. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Aziyyat (talk) 06:03, 14 February 2024 (UTC) Aziyyat (talk) 06:04, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.   Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Loloan Malays, you may be blocked from editing. Austronesier (talk) 07:15, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

I would like to add a further warning to you. You have similarly added unsourced or poorly sourced content in Ahom kingdom and other pages. Chaipau (talk) 11:55, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
He has not started a discussion on the talk page and has reverted the edit again. Aziyyat (talk) 10:27, 15 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

  Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia pages, such as those you made to Bali Kingdom, even if you intend to fix them later. Your edits have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use your sandbox. Thank you. Personhumanperson (talk) 14:07, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

  You don't seem to be here to help write an encyclopedia. Your edits here makes no sense. The local name cannot be "Hill Tipperrah". "Hill" is an English word. Chaipau (talk) 00:51, 15 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
