User:عراقي1/Signature edit

Hello, and welcome to the English Wikipedia. Our WP:Signatures policy forbids transcluding templates and putting images in signatures (template substitution is permissible, but discouraged), and strongly discourages enlarging text. Please change your signature to a more toned-down version.

Also, interwikis are to be put in Wikidata now, and until recently they have been put on the documentation page in an includeonly tag. Otherwise, happy editing! Keφr 17:13, 17 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I notice from your post at Village pump (technical) that you continue to sign using a template, {{User:عراقي1/Signature}}, and that this template still has an image in it. Please would you fix it in line with WP:CUSTOMSIG. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:30, 20 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
I have removed the image for you. But please now use Special:Preferences to set your signature, not a signature template. WP:SIG#NT explains this. Thanks, BencherliteTalk 19:52, 20 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
It appears that you are still signing with a template. Please see WP:SIG#NT, and stop using a template. --Redrose64 (talk) 16:53, 22 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Signature template deleted edit

As you're not listening to polite requests to follow local rules about signatures, I have deleted it. BencherliteTalk 18:59, 22 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of مستخدم:عراقي1/vector.css edit

Hello عراقي1,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged مستخدم:عراقي1/vector.css for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. TheLongTone (talk) 15:52, 18 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Re: Biota edit

Hello and thanks for your message. I can't help you with a full translation, because I don't speak Arabic. But yes, "the organisms of England" makes sense, although you could probably change "organisms" to "animal and plant life" as per the definition you linked to. By the way, it would have been better if you had posted your follow-up question on the reference desk as well, so that other editors can contribute. --Viennese Waltz 12:20, 28 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Geo edit

Sorry my edit summary was a bit rude. The Geo portals would make sense in the Geo articles like Geography of Hong Kong. Country articles cover alot of topics, just image the mess if all the generic portals were add that the page topics cover like politics, sports, food, history, governance, economics, law, culture and so on. Also must think does the generic non specific Geo portal help our readers find more info on Hong Kong its self? -- Moxy (talk) 06:10, 1 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Iraq Babbler.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Iraq Babbler.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:53, 11 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
