Zaporizhia edit

Stop trying to change the name of Zaporizhia in the English Wikipedia. If you think that the article's name needs changing, then make a formal move request at Talk:Zaporizhia. If the Wikipedia community agrees with your request for move, then you can move it and change the name in the article. Otherwise, leave the name in its common English form. The name of the oblast in English is Zaporizhia as well. --Taivo (talk) 12:48, 10 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

I support TaivoLinguist's request above, and have just reverted this edit of yours. Now look, if you feel quite justified in believing the article name is incorrect, you need to start a discussion on the talk page, provide your evidence, and get agreement from other editors. I'm afraid trying to make unilateral changes may only lead to you being blocked from editing for not working to community consensus. Does this make sense? July 2019 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Zaporizhia, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. You've changed pre-existing talk on the page twice now. Please read the policy carefully and be careful not to make such changes again. Iryna Harpy (talk) 01:38, 11 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
