Hey Sigma.

Do you remember me? From about two or three years ago? I've moved on from Wikipedia. I've done a lot of things on other wikis such as the ones I've contributed to on Wikia. I've basically been inactive and I don't really ever plan to return to editing Wikipedia. Not because it's a bad site, but because it makes me feel bad thinking of how I've annoyed others or perhaps just not really contributed to WP in a proper manner. I want to make a new account here so as to feel like it's a fresh start so I can feel like I'm not burdened by my previous thousands of edits. But I'm unwilling and I refuse to request the admins do all that--not to give me a fresh start, but because my userpage templates, as few as they are, may be useful to others in the future. And it reveals my personality from late 2012, as the troll I ended up being for a few months, wanting so desperately to help everyone and then in my free time just acting in a way I sort of regret personally now. I have my reasons for leaving this old account as is instead of asking admins to essentially remove me from the site for a fresh start, and they're too long to list.

Ah, I'm rambling on again. I just wanted to message you and let you know that I'm not dead. If I ever do make a new account, it will be under the username of MichiRecRoom (or something similar if it's taken by that point). But for now I'll be inactive. And when I become active again, it will be under that account name. I've changed a lot over those two or three years, and I feel that it would be better I start over on a new account than look bad to others from how I acted before. And if you ever want to talk to me wiki style, I go by a similar name on Wikia as I do here, Likelakers22. (Please note the lowercase L, I messed up when creating my username)

(Delete this off of your talk page if you want, I just wanted to message you and let you know all that, since you always come to mind when I think of Wikipedia.) -LikeLakers2 (talk | Sign my guestbook!) 20:18, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

Archivebot error

Hi Σ, is there something odd about the way I have my archive set up? I noticed the bot reported trouble in this edit. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 01:15, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

This error happens completely randomly, but I will try to track it down. I suspect the recent changes to the API. But there's nothing wrong with how you set up your talk page, so don't worry. Σσς(Sigma) 03:02, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

Wikipedia talk:Userboxes/New Userboxes not getting archived

The page Wikipedia talk:Userboxes/New Userboxes was set up for archiving back when MiszaBot was still active, but hasn't actually been archived since August 2013. From what I understand, lowercase sigmabot III should be archiving the page due to inclusion of the MB2 config block, but it seems to never have done so. Could you check what's going wrong, and give us an update at WP Userboxes? Thanks. // coldacid (talk|contrib) 22:34, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

It needed a key, as the target archive was not a subpage of the talk page. I have added one. Σσς(Sigma) 22:39, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

Valentine Greets!!!

  Valentine Greets!!!

Hello Σ, love is the language of hearts and is the feeling that joins two souls and brings two hearts together in a bond. Taking love to the level of Wikipedia, spread the WikiLove by wishing each other Happy Valentine's Day, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past, a good friend, or just some random person.
Sending you a heartfelt and warm love on the eve,
Happy editing,

Spread the love by adding {{subst:Valentine Greetings}} to other user talk pages.

Returns an error -- PBS (talk) 12:27, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

It happened because I was trying to check 3 editors

https://tools.wmflabs.org/sigma/editorinteract.py?user1=Enredados+&user2=Mannyfabolous&user3=+Franzy89&startdate=&enddate=&ns=

and accidentally put the name of Enredados in for a second time instead of Franzy89. With 3 different names it works as expected. Perhaps you need to add a check that the names added are unique.

Question

Why do you archive text on Qed237's talk page after 27 days? TeaLover1996 Lets talk about it 01:32, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @TeaLover1996: It's actually 21 days. The answer is because the {{User:MiszaBot/config}} at User talk:Qed237 has the |algo=old(21d) parameter: 21d is 21 days. Presumably this age cutoff is what Qed237 wanted; it's not the choice of Σ. --Redrose64 (talk) 18:58, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
@TeaLover1996 and Redrose64: 21 days (3 weeks) is my choice. I believe I had 28 days (4 weeks) before but the my talkage got to long so I shortened it. To me it seems like a good time period before it is being archived. QED237 (talk) 19:08, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

Pink Floyd Archives

The archive list on Talk:Pink Floyd stops at 9, but posts are currently being archived to Talk:Pink Floyd/Archive 15
The problem seems to have arisen as, for some reason, in July 2012 MiszaBot I archived posts to Archive 9, but in August 2012, archived them to Archive 14 - so there are no archives 10, 11, 12 or 13.
I assume this is why the archive list stops at 9 - it is waiting for Archive 10 - which has yet to appear, and won't.
I've made a mess of altering archives in the past, so could you please advise/renumber the archives so they all appear in the archive index at the top of the page.
Thanks - Arjayay (talk) 13:28, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @Arjayay: This is not a problem with the bot. The {{talk header}} template doesn't expect gaps in the archive sequence, it stops looking once it finds that a number is missing. It is possible to move the archive pages just like any other, but that will break inward links from other pages. What you could do is ask for the {{talk header}} template to be amended (which will probably be denied), or create the missing numbers with nothing but an {{aan}} template and some text like "This is a placeholder for a non-existent archive". But why was it necessary for GabeMc (talk · contribs) to alter the counter from 9 to 14 in this edit? --Redrose64 (talk) 19:58, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
OK - as there were only 2 incoming links to each archive, I have moved archives 14 + 15 to archives 10 + 11 and edited/delinked the incoming links (e.g. delinking the one in my post above, and on the talk page)- This has worked as they now appear in the template and can be accessed that way. I have also nominated the old archive pages, which remain as redirects, for deletion - in case their existence upsets the Bot in the future. We wait for the next auto-archive to Talk:Pink Floyd .... - Arjayay (talk) 19:26, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

Question

Can you help me? The bot (lowercase sigmabot III) did not archive the page Talk:Iraqi insurgency (2011–present) last night, by I don't know why. Did I configure something wrongly? Vanjagenije (talk) 11:54, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

ebola virus epidemic in west Africa talk page

hi, the cases in Sierra Leone are kicking up again, as a consequence we have on and off again conversations depending on whats happening, the point is we're down to 2 discussions on the talk page and I don't know how to slow down the archiving "bot" could it be possible to set it to about 3 weeks for the time being? thank you--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 13:14, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @Ozzie10aaaa: Are you referring to Talk:Sierra Leone ? there is no archiving bot set on this talk page. Talk:Ebola virus epidemic in West Africa is set for 30 days. Mlpearc (open channel) 13:24, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

its set for 30 days?, then I guess I must have been away from the page too long... my mistake, sorry for the inconvenience and thank you--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 13:34, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

@Ozzie10aaaa: No problem :) (and no inconvenience) Mlpearc (open channel) 14:10, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

Undid archive by your bot as archive box didn't show up on my talk page

Can you check to see if the bot would create an archive box when it archives my talk page? I undid the previous edit that the bot performed. I'm not sure if the bot would archive my page again correctly and with the archive box needed to navigate back to the older archives. Please check to make sure that the archive parameters for my page are set correctly and that the 1 page that the bot created would not interfere with the next archive attempt. Also, the page I suspect would interfere with future archiving is: User talk:Wikih101/Archive 1. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks. Wikih101 (talk) 06:55, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @Wikih101: The bot did create an archive box, it's the {{talk archive}} at the top of User talk:Wikih101/Archive 1. It adds that when creating an archive page, and other boxes are available: the precise one to add is specified by the |archiveheader= parameter of {{User:MiszaBot/config}}. --Redrose64 (talk) 11:47, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
