Dead Heart in a Dead World

No, it isn't Dead Heart, in a Dead World. http://www.nevermore.tv/disc_deadheart.php http://musicbrainz.org/release/24532481-6b61-49e2-af0c-ac38d17d3686.html http://www.centurymedia.com/us/single_artist.php?ID=38 https://www.cmdistro.com/index.aspx?IdItem=2439 (linked to on the century media site)

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the record label and the band know what the album is titled. So I'm gonna go ahead and revert that until you can find a real source. All I found to support your contention was amazon and some obscure metal review sites. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PEiP (talkcontribs) 23:58, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Help

Help you do what? Are you starting a Testament project? Someone should start a thrash metal taskforce under the WP:HMM... I think. Problem is... that Wiki-project is populated with teenager/schoolkids who aren't very good editors. A thrash task force would just be a magnet for the lowest common denominator from that pack.

PS I like WarCry. Create composition. Power metal is so generic... so boring cookie cutter metal... it takes something special to make it sound slightly different. Eveeryone always seems to focus on guitars... for them I think the standout is the very precise drumming... very technical... but very tight. Haven't listened to it all yet. Will get to it in time. ??Did Metallica do something wrong that I don't know about? The Real Libs-speak politely 01:10, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
I don't particularly care for St. Anger the studio album... simply because of the 311 snare drum "ping" sound. But the DVD that came with it that has Robert Trujillo playing on it is much much better... WAY more interesting. I met Metallica on several occasions back in the days between Kill "em All and Ride The Lightning. Had several outstanding music conversations with Cliff Burton, who was an amazing talent. If he were still alive Metallica's music wouldn't be much different than what it is right now. Burton was a huge ZZ Top fan... a huge Rush fan... he believed in "progress" in music. I never fell in with the crowd that just wanted them to keep releasing the same album over and over and over again. The Black Album... just a sound they had always tried to achieve... right from the first album. My Friend of Misery is one of the best heavy metal songs of the early 1990s. The Load/ReLoad sound... again... new territory... new sounds... new styles... some of it stale... some of it great. Thorn Within, Outlaw Torn, Bleeding Me, Carpe Diem Baby, Low Man's Lyric again... not just the best heavy metal songs of the mid 1990s... but a few of Metallica's greatest songs... period. Those two albums show more Cliff Burton influence than most people know to give them credit for... that was "his" style of music. St. Anger... the album that went completely opposite... on purpose... to what every one expected them to do... takes a lot of balls to do that. And now the new one... a plain jane speed metal album... the album everyone expected them to do... only they did it their own way. Master of Puppets is one of the best heavy metal albums ever recorded by anyone. And Metallica never made any attempt to repeat it... and thank goodness. I haven't spoken to anyone in the band in over 20 years. My cousin is still pretty good friends with them. He says James, Lars and Kirk are still the same people they were back in 1984. What does that mean? To those of us who knew them in '84... James and Kirk are still cool... Lars is still a d*nk. :-D. Just like the old days. Out of the "big four of thrash"... I was always of the belief that Anthrax made the most interesting music between the four of them.
I am not familiar with the formatting of the discography project. I don't think I'd be much help with the article. Unless it requires citations. I am librarian remember... I have citations at my fingertips everyday at work. The Real Libs-speak politely 02:15, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

I am only browsing the odd page looking for vandalism and trolling. That's the easy way out over actual editing tonight. I have spent a grand total of 10 minutes all night actually looking at Wikipedia. I just got a new 7 week old dog. A Mastiff/Boxer mix. It's way more entertaining than Wikipedia.... WAY more. When I am at work I have electronic access to a huge database of periodicals and pro publications related to music (and everything else) It take some time to scroll through. But if there is a specific reference you are needing there is a 40-50% chance that I have it. Let me know. Good luck. The Real Libs-speak politely 02:39, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Panic (band)...

Im gonna have to disagree with you taking Panic out of the associated acts. The associated acts are to include bands that either a) Metallica sprang from (which Panic definitely falls under this category, because a few versions of songs from Kill 'Em All came from this band) or b)sprang from Metallica.....that being said Exodus does not fall into either category....While I agree that the Panic page is lacking, it does at least have a blurb that makes Panic much more notable in the associated acts than Exodus...Arch stanton1138 (talk) 16:16, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

WarCry

Here's an example of a non-English footnote citation. The quote in the footnote is for when the original source is in Spanish and you have translated it. All you really have to do is add "quote" as a parameter in the citation and place the original *(Spanish) quote after it. Here's what it would look like when you type it:

Carlos Gonzales said "One more, please."<ref>{{in lang|es}}{{cite web|last = Gonzales|first = Carlos|title = Interview with Carlos Gonzales|publisher = ''¡Mira!''|date = 2008-10-01|url = http://example.com|accessdate = 2008-10-01|quote = Uno más, por favor.}}</ref>

And here is what you would get in the page view:

Carlos Gonzales said "One more, please."[1]

Removing B-sides/Seprating sections

What was the reason why you removed the B-Sides from Disturbed's discography page? Why did you seprate so man sections. I'm undoing your edits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.243.213.44 (talk) 19:44, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

DO NOT redo these edits. There is no need to remove something the artist has released form the page which is supposed to list what the artist has released. Common sense. 76.243.213.44 (talk) 20:16, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Thank you. don't worry about it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.243.213.44 (talk) 02:41, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Hello, I have removed this nomination from WP:GAN. Because it is a list, it is ineligible for GA status. It should be taken to Wikipedia:Featured list candidates instead. Best wishes, GaryColemanFan (talk) 05:01, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: List of WarCry band members

No; it needs to be reviewed by different reviewers for several days first. Gary King (talk) 04:53, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure; I'm not as familiar with band member articles as others might be. The prose has improved, though. Gary King (talk) 04:56, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Hmm, how about having both languages in the quote, though it'd be wise to get opinions frim others first. Sunderland06 (talk) 18:45, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
I agree with Sunderland06 here. You also might want to add a note somewhere advising of the translation, and the possible inaccuracies. Cheers, –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 16:20, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Iron Maiden discography

You are trying usurp my work? Cannibaloki 02:40, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

If you manipulate only the text, because I had a lot of work to add the references that you insists on remove, okay. About the project, I can help you if you're ready. I imagine that you have plenty of material about the band, or almost all books. Cannibaloki 03:51, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
The notes you've added, are not so important to the article, anyway, to be added again need references. The catalog numbers, should be viewed by all at normal size. The external links section is ready, Discogs is not a reliable source, and MySpace wounds WP:ELNO (we already have the official website of Iron Maiden). I'm also trying to make the EPs section is similar to Box sets, so the addition of "EPs charts peaks" in the table makes strange positions and not add in anything, and that can be easily found in its main articles. Regards, Cannibaloki 15:08, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Wikimedia Commons + Wikipedia = Connecting the projects? I had an idea, you are very interested in improving this article right? —Yes. So I suggest that you use as much detail as possible to write overviews sections of the discography such as studio albums, live, EPs, etc. Some information relevant to each of these sections, that's it. Cannibaloki 04:20, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
See this page. Cannibaloki 04:32, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
#1 → number one ;-) Cannibaloki 05:31, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
I have to convert almost all the references, because I discovered a way to merge all the information on the charts in a single (web)page. You soon will understand how. — Actually I'll co-nominate this discography with you. I will create the FLC page and write your name, then you go to the page and sign your name. Okay, thanks for all. Cannibaloki 01:29, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Okay, done. Cannibaloki 17:21, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

It's ready for FLC from my end. Dabomb87 (talk) 23:33, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Re: Iron Maiden timeline

I think that the error has to do with the dates, but I'm not sure. Take a look at the page: List of Nine Inch Nails live-band members and the same problem here. Now I go to sleep and tomorrow I will re-create the timeline that you left on my talk page. Regards, Cannibaloki 05:54, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Re: Could you help me?

I copyedited a bit. The "groundbreaking" and "breakthrough" stuff is subjective and should not be used. Gary King (talk) 01:35, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Hmm. =( Cannibaloki 04:07, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Re: Hi there again.

The second lead looks better. It looks pretty good as it stands now, but I think you should ask someone else who hasn't taken a look at the lead yet, for a second opinion. Try asking Dabomb87 or SRX. Gary King (talk) 15:15, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Hey, no problem. Overall it looks good, just a few things..
  • Iron Maiden are a British heavy metal band founded in 1975 by bassist and only permanent member Steve Harris. - I would use "original member" versus "permanent."
  • Iron Maiden broadened their sound with the use of synthesizers in Somewhere in Time (1986). - link to "synthesizers?"
  • Their follow-up concept album, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (1988), perfected this new approach[7] and topped the UK charts.[4] - perfected sounds like POV in this sentence, is it possible to reword to say that same thing to avoid a POV?
  • The next year, Dickinson departed from the band. - next--->following
  • Dickinson and Smith returned to the band in 1999; Janick Gers remained as member. - add an "a" after "as." But first of all why do you note that he was still in the band, if he didn't leave, there's no need to say he never left.--SRX 23:57, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

I do not use this site for dates, but for "more complete" catalog numbers.
The catalog numbers of albums that are released in the country that I live is different from the original version, so the times I am forced to use resources like this site. [offline now] Cannibaloki 06:00, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Re:Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Iron Maiden discography

  Done--TRUCO 17:19, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

"I let you know that the list was being nominated and you didn't even go there to take a look at it and sign your name as good contribuitor." What do you mean? Also, I would be happy to look at your next article. Dabomb87 (talk) 02:02, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
I wasn't complaining. I don't want to be on the credits, you and Cannabaloki were the main contributors, not me. The "disclosure" was for the FL directors, to let them know that I helped in the creation of the article and therefore my "Support" vote may be biased. I am not mad at all. Dabomb87 (talk) 02:21, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
No problem. I'll try to take a look at the discography tomorrow, I have too many other things to do in real life and on-wiki tonight. Dabomb87 (talk) 02:27, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

I prefer to leave FLCs open at least 10 days, so the earliest it can be closed is Saturday. The only reason I might consider closing an FLC early is if there was a restart. -- Scorpion0422 04:21, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

List of Iron Maiden band members

Considering I managed to make the timeline finally work (copying the height of a similar one), you just need some more references, and an intro that describes the article (similar to the one you and the other guy wrote in Iron Maiden discography, but focusing on the line-up changes - for inspiration, besides the NIN one I linked, there are other three FLs, and one that's also comprehensive). Good luck on improving it! igordebraga 00:39, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

All I think is needed are a few more refs in the lead (to state when/why the members left), and discover if one more guy deserves a space in the former members (Tony Parsons may have recorded Metal for Muthas). Maybe this will be achieved by finding someone with those books mentioned in the Iron Maiden article. Also, would you be interested in further improving List of Iron Maiden tours? igordebraga 01:39, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of ¿Dónde Está La Luz? Tour

I have nominated ¿Dónde Está La Luz? Tour, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/¿Dónde Está La Luz? Tour. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
