Loknayak Jai Prakash Institute of Technology (LNJPIT) [2] is a government engineering college in Bihar. It is managed by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Bihar. [3]. It is approved and recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education and is affilated to Aryabhata knowledge University, Patna.
The main campus of this college is located on the outskirts of Saran district, 6 km from Chhapra, on the Bihar State Highway (also known as Chhapra-Patna Highway), situated on the banks of the Ganges River.

Admission edit
Bihar Joint Entrance Competitive Examination Board [5] Two-stage entrance exam after counseling Conducts. In the first stage, candidates are screened according to their educational qualification related to ISC or related examinations, after which candidates attempt to write papers in their particular subjects. A qualifying cutoff mark is calculated for each candidate on the basis of category and subject group, in which successful candidates appear for the BCECE Phase II examination. Based on the merit list of the second stage, the successful candidates then have to go through the counseling stage.
A B.Sc. Degree / Diploma in Engineering is required for lateral entry in the second year and should be on the merit list of BCECE (LE). Diplomoma students are preferred over B.Sc. Students in BCECE Lateral Entry Examination [6]

The institute is residential in nature. There are four boys hostels which have the capacity to accommodate 800 students and one hostel has the capacity to accommodate 200 students. Guest house for parents and others located on the campus.</ref>

Annual celebrations: The annual celebrations are held every year on September 8 to commemorate the foundation day of the college. Annual sports events and cultural events are organized along with it. Such as Saraswati Puja, Vishwakarma Puja, Farewell Party, Welcome Party.
