Earth-616
Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)
  • The main continuity for the MCU, including the films, One-Shots, tie-in comics and all of the Disney+ series (excluding for What If...? and most of Loki)
  • Home reality of "Peter-One".
  • The original designation for this reality of Earth-199999 was revealed in Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A-Z Volume 5 hardcover book, which was released in 2008.[2]
    • This designation was never referenced to as such in any subsequent official media (with the exception of Sony Animation’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)) in the following years nor was referred as such by Marvel Studios themselves, and was confirmed as Earth-616 in Multiverse of Madness. Kevin Feige – head of Marvel Studios as well as former-chief creative officer of Marvel Entertainment – later began referring to the main reality of the MCU as Earth-616 as well.[3]
  • An event known as the Blip played a major role in the events of this reality, with half of all life within the universe being erased from existence by the villain known as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) before being restored back to life five years later in Avengers: Endgame (2019) by the Avengers.

  • The universe is briefly visited by Spot in Across the Spider-Verse where he encounters Mrs. Chen. In a TV spot for the film, it was designated as Earth-688, which references the unofficial fan designation of this reality of “Earth-TRN688”.

Using all six Stones, Ultron eradicated all life in his universe except for Black Widow.[…] What If...? Season 1 Episode 8 "What If... Ultron Won?" (2021)"
    • Zombie apocalypse – "Earth-89521 […] when rescuing Janet Van Dyne from the Quantum Realm unleashed a quantum zombie virus. Hank Pym was infected and spread it to the Avengers. The few survivors discovered that the Vision's Mind Stone could cure the infected and planned to broadcast the Stone's frequencies worldwide from Wakanda. [...] What If...? episode “What If... Zombies!?” (2021)"
    • Destroyed reality – "Earth-91233 […] Steven Strange and Christine Palmer remained a couple and the car crash took Palmer's life instead of Strange's hands. Strange traveled even further back to the library of Cagliostro and spent centuries gaining power by absorbing magical beings. With enough power, he undid the Absolute Point, which destroyed his universe, reducing it to a small pocket of reality. Dr. Strange was subsequently recruited into the Guardians of the Multiverse to defeat Ultron-29929. What If...? episode “What If.. Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?” (2021)"
