Kepler-283 is a star in the constellation of Cygnus.

It was discovered by the Kepler space telescope and is 1496 light-years from Earth. It's an orange dwarf and its mass is 0.62 M and a radius of 0.57 R☉.

In 2014, two planets were discovered orbiting Kepler-283. The planet Kepler-283 c est devenue populaire car it has a very high Earth Similarity Index (ESI) (79 %) as it is situated in the habitable zone of the star, which indicates that it has potential for development of a form of life. Kepler-283 c is classified as a Super-Earth à la suite de because of its mass, which is well above thta of Earth.
