"Bourgeois class domination is undoubtedly an historical necessity, but, so too, the rising of the working class against it. Capital is an historical necessity, but, so too, its grave digger, the socialist proletariat."

About Me edit

My name is Iudaeus (Latin for Jew) and I was born in Manhattan, New York and live in Brooklyn, New York with my family in the neighborhood of Midwood. I am big into languages, music, politics and math, all of which will be covered later. I'm straight and am a Northern Syrian Sephardic Secular Jew (try saying that three times fast), meaning that my family came from Portugal during the expulsion from Spain and Portugal and settled in the Ottoman empire, namely, in Syria (Aleppo).

Languages edit

In addition to all these things I am a language geek, and love learning languages. My first, and best foreign language is Spanish, which I study diligently in school, and hope to one day be completely fluent in. Next up is Latin, which I also study and school, and can read ot pretty well but can't speak (it's not really meant to be spoken). Last of the languages I speak are Talossan, French, and Esperanto which I can read and, if provided with a dictionary, probably write in as well. On top of all these (Whew!) I am also studying Bolognese, which is quite interesting considering I've never studied Italian.

Politics edit

Politics are a huge part of my life, and I follow them diligently. I like to classify myself as a Democratic Socialistt. This means that I am an advocate of a Socialist economic structure paired with a democratically elected government. In addition, I am a pacifist, so violent revolution is out of the question. I believe that we can move towards the Left in peace and harmony. I am a strong proponent of Range Voting as well as being a pacifist and someone who pushes for serious action against Global Warming within the next 5 years. If numbers help you, here are my Political Compass Scores:
Economic Left/Right: -9.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -8.92

Music edit

Music is also very important to me. I play alto and tenor sax (though I usually only play tenor in my Jazz Band), and am greatly enjoying learning the theory of jazz and music in general. I can also (sort of) play guitar and (this is stretching it) piano which are fun instruments, but definitely not my passions.

Math edit

I'm always interested in math (especially cake cutting problems i.e. how do x number of people cut a cake so that it's fair) and am taking Pre-Calculus at the moment so, you know, logs, logistics, unit circles, etc. It's all good.
