Providence Steamrollers (1946–49) edit

 
Walt Dropo from the University of Connecticut was the Providence Steamrollers first draft pick in 1947, but opted to peruse a career in professional baseball.
 
The Providence Steamrollers drafted Paul Courty from the Oklahoma in 1949, however Courty decided to continue his amateur career and joined the Phillips 66ers.

St. Louis Bombers (1946–1950) edit

 
The St. Louis Bombers selected Ed Macauley from Saint Louis University with a territorial pick in 1949 which allowed the team to pick a player from a school within 50 miles of the team's stadium in exchange for their first round pick.
 
Preston Ward was selected by the Bombers during the 1949 BAA draft while he was playing professional baseball.

The following is a list of Chicago Stags draft picks in the Basketball Association of America (BAA) draft which became the National Basketball Association (NBA) draft in 1950. During the first BAA draft in 1947, Chicago selected Paul Huston from Ohio State University with the eighth pick in the first round. Andy Phillip was selected by Chicago during the 1947 BAA draft and played for them until 1950. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame following his playing career.[5] Chicago selected another eventual Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame member Jim Pollard during the 1947 draft, but were unable to sign him.[6]
