About Me
editI am currently in my final year of study in the field of Design for Digital Media at the University of Hull Scarborough Campus. I am a qualified carpenter and joiner by trade; with advanced woodwork. I have been working in the building industry for the past 25 years. However, due to an industrial accident I have changed my career path and aim to work as a freelance designer once graduated.
Education
editI attended St Augustine's School. I then studied at Westwood Annex before taking on an apprenticeship with Balfour Beatty PLC where I achieved a City and Guilds in advanced carpentry and joinery. I have worked for various companies during the course of my career in woodwork, gaining many skills across the building trade. After my accident in 2004 doctors told me if I didn’t give up woodwork I’d end up paralysed. After studying at night school and gaining a distinction in AutoCAD design, I decided to explore my creative side and study in Digital Media and Design at Yorkshire Coast College gaining a foundation degree. This has led me to where I am today.
Interests
editI have a keen interest in many forms of design and I try to learn as much as I can about the different areas and trends within the industry. My main discipline is 3D design, including 3D animation and 3D modelling.
Wikipedia Project
editMy current project at university requires me to write an article on Dr Everlyn Ellerman. This is a group project, the progress can be seen here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Xlucky_charmx/Everlyn_ellerman
