sources and basic facts edit

Hi, thank you for your contributions. Please do not delete basic facts like "Thyrotropin-releasing factor (thyrotropin-releasing hormone) has a stimulatory effect on prolactin release." and "Several variants and forms are known per species. Many fishes have variants prolactin A and prolactin B. Most vertebrates including humans also have the closely related somatolactin. In humans 3 smaller (4, 16, and 22 kDa) and several larger (so called big and big-big) variants exist."

Information that is considered basic and not controversial does not require a proof for every line of text. Richiez (talk) 13:20, 25 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I moved the info on CRH to #Production and regulation because dopamine is the most important regulator and it doesn't seem to me important enough for the lead to mention others.
I couldn't find sources mentioning PRL A or B, neither a 4kDa, but instead a 14kDa, I moved this to #structure for the same reasons. I couldn't find any source confirming presence of somatolactin in humans or 'most vertebrates', just fishes or amphibians, even though some sources have suspected it, but one source suggests its function may have been lost as with much of the pars intermedia. Anyway, it seemed too tangential so I just linked to the somatostropin family. Those aren't basic and noncontroversial facts. Feral mage (talk) 13:53, 25 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for February 27 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Posterior pituitary, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Infundibulum (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Welcome to Wikipedia from the Physiology Wikiproject! edit

Welcome to Wikipedia from Wikiproject Physiology! We're a group of editors who strive to improve the quality of physiology articles here on Wikipedia. One of our members has noticed that you are involved in editing physiology articles; it's great to have a new interested editor on board. In your wiki-voyages, a few things that may be relevant to editing wikipedia articles are:

Physiology gives us an understanding of how and why things in the field of medicine happen. Together, let us see the project through.
  • Thanks for coming aboard! We always appreciate a new editor. Feel free to leave us a message at any time on the WikiProject Physiology talk page. If you are interested in joining the project yourself, there is a participant list where you can sign up. Please leave a message on the talk page if you have any problems, suggestions, would like review of an article, need suggestions for articles to edit, or would like some collaboration when editing!
  • You will make a big difference to the quality of information by adding reliable sources. Sourcing physiology articles is essential and makes a big difference to the quality of articles. And, while you're at it, why not use a book to source information, which can source multiple articles at once!
  • Physiology related articles are often large in scope, have many available sources, and a lot of research available. When editing, there's no need to work alone. Why not drop us a message on our talk page for advice or interested collaborators?
  • Lastly, why not try and strive to create a good article! The good article criteria represent a degree of broadness, verifiability and readability that we hope all articles can one day meet or exceed.

Feel free to contact us on the WikiProject Physiology talk page if you have any problems, wish to join us, or are looking for collaborators on certain topics. I wish you all the best on your wiki-voyages! Tom (LT) (talk) 00:02, 6 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
