ARDANTYA SYAHREZA

Born in Jakarta, December 20th, 1976.


He is the eldest son of Prof. Dr. dr. Mohamad Hidayat (one of Indonesian Orthopedic Surgeon, born in September 21, 1943) and Chamsini Rizka (born in November 24th, 1955). He has 2 younger brothers; Rayendra Pradipta (November 28th, 1980) and Andhika Yudistira (May 10th, 1983).

He has been raised in a small city in East Java, Indonesia called Malang city. This is where he grew from his kindergarten until his college level. In 1994, he entered Economics Faculty of Brawijaya University in Marketing Management major. He graduated his Economics Bachelor Degree in June 1999.

AIESEC Life

During his college period, he had been active in an international students organization called AIESEC. In AIESEC, he started his career as a new member of AIESEC Brawijaya University Local Committee. He continued to involve in several AIESEC projects involved in Marketing and Program Development. In year 1996, he joined AIESEC Indonesia National Support Team and had been with AIESEC Indonesia all along of his career. In 1998, he was elected as the National Committee President of AIESEC Indonesia for 1-year term until he graduated in June 1999.

One of his term achievement is to initiate the local branch expansion in University of Surabaya. Today, Surabaya is known as the 6th local committee of AIESEC Indonesia.

Graduated in June 1999, he went straight to Kingston, Ontario - CANADA to be employed as Marketing Trainee for 4 months in ROYAL BANK of Canada, Kingston local office. He got the opportunity through AIESEC International Exchange program called ITEP (International Traineeship Exchange Program).

Since then, he has been one of the active AIESEC Indonesia alumni who is constantly giving consultations, trainings and advises to AIESEC Indonesia committees and active members.

Lately, in January 2009, he proclaimed the continuation of the initiative to form an AIESEC Indonesia Alumni Organization called AIAO (AIESEC Indonesia Alumni Organization). He becomes the Vice Chairman of AIAO.


Career Life

In March 2000, he started his career as a Marketing Researcher with ACNielsen Indonesia. He focused on qualitative research expertise. Using mostly focus group methodology, he has been serving several research projects for usage & behavior studies, advertising / campaign development studies, advertising / campaign evaluation studies, product test studies, customer satisfaction studies.

While with ACNielsen Indonesia, he had been handling clients like Honda, Philip Morris, HM Sampoerna, Astra International, Telkom Indonesia, and some more clients in banking, cigarettes and automotive.

He joined a new-set-up local research company called Exquisindo Global Research in July 2002 as Research Manager and handled clients like Unilever Indonesia, Indosat, Daihatsu, and many more.

Dying to get experience more than the research but more into the insights and marketing strategy implementation, he joined DDB Indonesia. As the Business Development Manager, he was challenged to bring more clients through business pitches. Here, Ardantya was challenged to combine his skills in business networking, marketing, team building and marketing communication insights-based strategy development. He had been working with various business accounts types like banking, consumer goods, automotive, telecommunication, political party, and many more.

Year 2005 is the peak time for Ardantya to really get inspired by his uncle, Benny Subianto (ex Vice President of PT Astra International, Tbk who turned up into one of 100 richest Indonesian conglomerate), of being an entrepreneur.

First, he started to build his business portfolio in culinary business. In January 2005, he started to establish a small outlet franchised Bakso Kota Cak Man in one of the key shopping mall in Jakarta, Indonesia with his 2 partners. In the next year, he continued to set up another one in another key shopping mall in outer Jakarta. Both outlets have turned up his key cash cow until now. He also have established another one in one of most crowded culinary street in Jakarta. He never stops until today in exploring the potential of Indonesian food culinary business under the flag; K-FOOD INDONESIA. The profile can be seen in K-Food website.

Secondly, he has established a local marketing communication agency called MKI (PT MARKETING KOMUNIKASI INDONESIA) in September 2005. Starting with a small account project, MKI has been serving clients like Bank Central Asia, Hutchison Telecom Indonesia, Kalbe Farma, Danone Dairy Indonesia, Sari Husada, Nestle Indonesia, Garudafood, BMW Indonesia, Kidzania Jakarta, Abbott Indonesia, Mercedes-Benz Indonesia, Excelcom Indonesia and many more.

MKI contains of two divisions: 1. EXIGO - a brand activation agency that serves conceptualizing, planning and implementation management of brand activation, events, road shows, sales promotion, exhibitions and seminars / talk shows. 2. CAULDRON RESEARCH - a marketing research agency that serves qualitative research services like advertising / campaign development, advertising / campaign evaluation, consumer behavior study, product test study and consumer satisfaction.

Ardantya is also listed as member of HIPMI (Indonesian Young Entrepreneur Association) for Jakarta Chapter since 2007.

Today, he has committed to contribute his career in business of brand marketing communication, marketing research, events & sales promotion, food culinary, education and tourism.


Family Life

Ardantya Syahreza married Sofia Ambarini (November 6th, 1973) in September 7th, 2007. They have been blessed with 1 son ; Ariello Muhammad Syahreza (Jakarta, July 1st, 2008) and 1 daughter ; Aleia Asha Syahreza (Jakarta, June 1st, 2009).
