The Arbitration Committee of the English Wikipedia is around in the digital age. As a consequence, an American youtube channel called Half as Interesting produced a video which (as of the time of writing) has racked up 616 thousand views.
The Plot edit
The video starts of with a sardonic tone (which continues for the rest of the video) with a narrator mocking the Scientology Wikipedia editing controversy. The narrator then shifts to the fact that the edits were reported to the Arbitration Committee which led to the Church of Scientology being banned from Wikipedia. The narrator then quickly explains why the Arbitration Committee was created and the fact that the Arbitration Committee has only ruled on a small number of cases due to the long process of dispute resolution before the Arbitration Committee (such as talk pages and Dispute resolution noticeboards) and the three-revert rule. Secondly, the narrator explains the elections of Arbitration Committee members to serve 2-year terms. The narrator then explains the case submission process and the voting process required to hear a case. Lastly, the narrator explains how a case proceeds with Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/World War II as an example.
