Minor grammatical nit

edit

The proper noun "WikiProject Architecture" would not normally be expected to take the definite article, "the" as used in this template. This looks like an editing slip-up but not being a participant in this WikiProject I am loath to edit the template myself. 121a0012 (talk) 03:46, 22 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Classes

edit

{{edit protected}} Could you please add the functionality of C-Class and FL-Class? Thanks! §hep¡Talk to me! 05:12, 12 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

  Done, mostly. There isn't a category for FL-Class articles right now, so I've categorized them to Category:List-Class Architecture articles. If this is a problem let me know on my talk page. I also don't see the C-Class being used anywhere, but it might just be that the cat hasn't updated yet. Cheers. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 05:01, 13 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

{{edit protected}} The FL-Class category has now been created. Now, just the template functionality is needed. --Millbrooky (talk) 06:35, 31 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

MetaBanner

edit

This template may benefit from being converted to use Template:WPBannerMeta. Any comments or concerns about this? Martin 15:06, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, I shall probably go ahead with this over the next few days. Martin 12:04, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Could you add FQS?

edit

{{edit protected}} Please add FQS, attention, needs-infobox and comments to this WPBM template, because the NA-Class category has over 1200+ articles in it. Thanks --Funandtrvl (talk) 19:45, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

  Done. Could you create the categories and update the documentation? Thanks, — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:59, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Copied from Template talk:WPBannerMeta:

Just a request to add the full parameters to the WP Architecture template. Thanks. --Funandtrvl (talk) 19:48, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Created cats and updated doc. Just noticed that a File-Class cat is now there, which name are we supposed to use, Image or File, because the WPBM is still prompting for Image? Just curious --Funandtrvl (talk) 23:51, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
We might have crossed tracks while I was checking your banner: can you be a bit more specific (it looks OK to me). For the Image/File question, I don't think we have a standard yet! Physchim62 (talk) 23:54, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes, there are now two categories for images under WP Architecture, one that I created using the prompts (Image-Class) and one that MSGJ created later on (File-Class). Since these cats duplicate each other, just wondering which one should be changed to redirect to the other. --Funandtrvl (talk) 00:00, 21 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
I thin this needs a more specific header! Physchim62 (talk) 00:14, 21 April 2009 (UTC) (discussion continued below)Reply
Funandtrvl simply replied in the wrong place. I'll copy this to Template talk:WikiProject Architecture. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 05:14, 21 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have now deleted the Image-Class category. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 05:20, 21 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Parameter "aid="?

edit

What is |aid=? No such parameter is documented in {{WPBannerMeta}}, and it isn't documented here either. It sounds redundant with |attention= to me. If it is not documented and justified as some WPArchitecture special need, that cannot be fulfilled except with a custom parameter, it should be removed. — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ʕ(Õلō Contribs. 19:04, 9 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Task force parameter

edit

A new taskforce for historic homes is being established, per discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Architecture#Country houses subproject. Please add a historic-houses-task-force = yes parameter. Thanks! --ELEKHHT 23:22, 12 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Elekhh: I've added the basics at {{WikiProject Architecture/sandbox}} (see this edit) but that is almost certainly insufficient. Quite a lot of the possible parameters used to set up a taskforce parameters are not set, or have been left as default (see Template:WPBannerMeta#Task forces. I've only set up four - |tf 1= |TF_1_LINK= |TF_1_NAME= |TF_1_NESTED= - some of the others won't matter, but you may like to specify what some of them should be. Also, is it correct that the taskforce should be enabled using |historic-houses-task-force=yes - that's not usual, more commonly we would use something shorter, like |historic-houses=yes. --Redrose64 (talk) 10:24, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Redrose64: Thanks for the help. I am happy with simplifying the para to |historic-houses=yes, and leaving everything minimal and default for now. I added a few more parameters. I imagine after the basics are set up things can be improved later. --ELEKHHT 10:48, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Of those, |TF_1_MAIN_CAT=Historic houses articles is fine, and I believe that |TF_1_ASSESSMENT_CAT=Historic houses articles will be as well, although for both of these, the necessary categories will need to be created. But regarding
|tf 1 importance={{{Historic houses-importance}}}
I have two observations: (i) the capitalisation and hyphenation should really match the main yes/no parameter; (ii) there's a missing pipe. I think that
|tf 1 importance={{{historic-houses-importance|}}}
would be better. --Redrose64 (talk) 10:53, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for being a bit clumsy, is the first task force I am trying to set up. Could we instead leave out all hyphens? --ELEKHHT 11:04, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Redrose64: Actually doesn't matter. I harmonized the two paras per your suggestion. --ELEKHHT 12:37, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Do you want an image? How about this one   or this one   or this   or  ? --Redrose64 (talk) 14:44, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Redrose64: I wanted to leave this part empty and let the taskforce find an image per the usual consensus process. But is also ok to use the first image you suggested as a placeholder. Is there anything else holding us back from implementing this? --ELEKHHT 21:16, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

I have added |historic-houses = yes as a parameter to the wp architecture banner on a few pages as a test (eg Talk:Montacute House, Talk:Barrington Court, Talk:Clevedon Court & Talk:Lytes Cary) but they don't seem to be showing up anywhere. Is this because Category:Historic houses articles hasn't been created yet or am I doing something wrong?— Rod talk 19:53, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Rodw: No, it's because {{WikiProject Architecture/sandbox}} hasn't been copied to {{WikiProject Architecture}} yet. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:55, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
  Done Now live, and documentation updated. --Redrose64 (talk) 21:59, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks now working - I don't know if the extra space above "|historic-houses = yes" rather than "|historic-houses=yes" made a difference.— Rod talk 08:27, 14 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Rodw: The spacing in a named parameter like |historic-houses=yes is immaterial (see H:T#Parameters). The problem that you experienced following edits like this was because I hadn't yet done this. Edits like this were unnecessary, in fact the extra | symbol is superfluous. A WP:NULLEDIT would have sufficed to bring the categories up to date. --Redrose64 (talk) 09:20, 14 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

I would like to enable the quality categorisations from the main project. To do this I think we need to add "TF_1_QUALITY = yes". --ELEKHHT 02:36, 15 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

  Done you might like to add {{cat class|topic=Historic houses|class=}} to the various category pages that Rodw (talk · contribs) created; remember to set the last parameter to whatever is applicable, e.g. |class=Stub on Category:Stub-Class Historic houses articles. This produces a box with redlinks for any cats that are missing, so those will need creating too. --Redrose64 (talk) 09:24, 15 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Box added - but I'm unsure what to do for unassessed class.— Rod talk 09:33, 15 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
