RfC on Template:Infobox person edit

This message is to notify you that there is an RfC ongoing on whether to add pronunciation info to {{Infobox person}}, a discussion which may also affect this template. Your comments on the matter are appreciated. The discussion can be found here. Thanks! 0x0077BE (talk · contrib) 17:23, 16 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Date of birth edit

The doc now advises use of {{birth date and age}}, which requires a full date. However, as per WP:DOB the exact birth date should normally not be included in articles about living people unless it is widely published already, or has clearly been published with the approval of the person. Many editors seem to be automaically following this documetation and inserting full dates of birth where they should not. I have now included a warning about this and a suggestion to use {{birth year and age}} in the doc. DES (talk) 19:35, 27 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

lack of white space, please take look at Christiaan Barnard article edit

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christiaan_Barnard

It flows from "Relatives Marius Barnard" to "Medical career" almost as if the second phrase is simply another relative being listed! And the fact that "Medical career" is in boldface doesn't help that much.

There are actually two problems, the fact that "Relatives" is plural and the lack of white space.

Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks. FriendlyRiverOtter (talk) 17:41, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

module2 -> module edit

this template doesn't have a module1, so there shouldn't be a module2 variable. Can it be changed to just "module"? Where is this Templates in use with "module2"? those would also need to be changed. --1Veertje (talk) 23:42, 12 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Unnecessary capitalisation edit

"Sub-Specialism" should be "Sub-specialism". The Rambling Man (talk) 18:42, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected edit request on 8 November 2019 edit

Could the residence parameter of {{Infobox person}} be added for cases where the subject's residence differs from their birth/death places? Thanks, 142.160.131.220 (talk) 05:54, 8 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Parameter error checking edit

Frietjes, this could use the standard error checking. I converted one article from scientist to medical person and much of the IB disappeared with no errors because of slight differences in parameter names. MB 03:13, 22 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

okay. Frietjes (talk) 16:04, 22 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Frietjes, In going through the errors, I noticed this version displayed |occupation= twice due to embedding this in IB person. I don't recall seeing that before. I did some experimenting and that is reproducible with other templates embedded and other parameters - so I guess that is just something we don't catch automatically - the dup args check works on each template individually? User:MB, correct, there is no communication between templates. Frietjes (talk) 14:36, 25 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
