Template talk:Banjo-Kazooie series
Stop 'N' Swop link
editI'm re-adding the Stop 'N' Swop link again. I don't see why it keeps getting removed. This template exists to facilitate navigation of related topics. It should certainly be linked.
Also I'm re-adding the BK3 link. I don't understand why this was removed at all. --- RockMFR 20:21, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- The category exists to facilitate navigation of related topics. This template exists to draw together core topics necessary for the understanding of the whole. A game that doesn't have a release date or a final name and hasn't been shown in playable form and a fictional store do not aid in this goal. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 20:23, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- I disagree with you. This template should do more than link to core topics. If an article is part of the Banjo-Kazooie universe and it is likely that readers would want to read that article, then it should be in this template. --- RockMFR 20:25, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- When you link to everything, core or not, you get a massive clutter of links completely incomprehensible to the uninitiated readers who need such navigation most. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 20:27, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- Massive clutter? No, this certainly isn't massive clutter. Are you assuming our readers are entirely incompetent and easily confused? --- RockMFR 20:29, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- It's not massive clutter yet. Do you want this template to have a link to every single place in BK? Every single character? Every single stage? Those are potentially interesting. This is the principle behind Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Navboxes, which set a high bar on in-universe stuff. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 20:31, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- Red link... --- RockMFR 20:34, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Linking to a disputed "guideline" that you yourself wrote really doesn't help your case. --- RockMFR 20:39, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- Look at the discussion. Linking to sundry in-universe junk has never been in dispute. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 20:42, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- These pages aren't "in-universe junk". If something is truly shitty, it should be deleted. Stop 'N' Swop survived Afd, and I'm sure BK3 would do the same. Articles should not be hidden because you think they are low quality or unimportant. --- RockMFR 20:47, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- I disagree, simply existing as an article does not merit inclusion into a navigational template (otherwise templates would be horrendously large).--TBCΦtalk? 10:23, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- However, I'm adding the link to BK3 back into the template. Unlike Stop 'N' Swop, BK3 is clearly a notable topic among the Banjo series of articles. Not only has it been confirmed, a trailer of the game that details several gameplay elements has been released, albeit without a confirmed release date.--TBCΦtalk? 10:32, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- Banjo Kazooie 3 is nothing but a tenative name and a trailer. That's not a core topic to the series yet; it's nothing but a few minutes of video footage. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 08:35, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

- At least it's not a redlink. I think the majority of people looking up the Banjo-Kazooie series will be interested in reading about BK3, and Stop 'N' Swop, for that matter.
- Can I make a suggestion here? I think it would be good if this template was divided into sections. "Banjo-Kazooie series games" could contain links to each of the BK games, "Future releases" could include a link to Banjo-Kazooie 3, and "Related topics" could contain links to List of characters in the Banjo-Kazooie series, Diddy Kong Racing, Stop 'N' Swop and Rare, Ltd. RobbieG 19:39, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, I just noticed that Stop 'N' Swop is not a page, it's merely a redirect to Banjo-Kazooie (series), so there's no point in it being on the template. RobbieG 19:42, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Diddy Kong Racing
editWhy is Diddy Kong Racing under the Banjo-Kazooie series? Just because Banjo was in the game doesn't mean that the game was part of the series. Titles under the series should involve Banjo or Kazooie as the main character, not just because they are playable characters.
Minecraft
editMinecraft has no relation to Banjo-Kazooie, therefore it should be removed. --66.87.121.61 (talk) 23:02, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
- ✓ I came here for the same reason. There's no mention of Banjo or Kazooie in the Minecraft article. The editor who added it didn't add a comment, either. I removed the link from the template. czar · · 04:08, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
Why does banjo still have it's timeline up?
editI mean... Bubsy's timeline was removed for “Not having enough games” so why is this still up? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 181.167.96.151 (talk) 15:22, 17 November 2018 (UTC)
- Why do you keep assuming both articles are edited by the same people with absolute parity with how they are written? How do you conceive Wikipedia works? Different people write about different things. The people who are writing Bubsy’s article may not edit BK’s article. Sergecross73 msg me 18:56, 17 November 2018 (UTC)
I NEVER assumed all articles were edited by the same people, I only assumed that all franchise-related articles had this rule of “if it doesn’t have enough entries, it shouldn’t have a timeline.” comment added by 181.167.96.151 (talk) 19:46, 17 November 2018 (UTC)
- That is incorrect, and I’m pretty sure no one explicitly told you that. And even if that was a rule, it could just be that it was never implemented. Banjo Kazooie isn’t exactly at its peak of popularity at the moment. It’s likely there just aren’t a ton of people editing the page these days. Sergecross73 msg me 02:31, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
