Long enough, nominated in timeframe, adequately referenced to reliable sources, though it depends mainly on a single reference, and appears neutral. Earwig noted no problems with paraphrasing. The hook is interesting, concise and supported by the reference, but the article needs to elaborate on why a person born in London and who seems to have lived her entire life in England should be considered Welsh on the basis of her parents' place of birth. - The Welsh Dictionary of Biography run by the National Library considers her to be Welsh. We call her British. The sources states the hook. We could change it to "of Welsh descent" but that isn't what the source says.♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:10, 8 March 2016 (UTC)
- The ODNB states her parents were "of Welsh descent" and also later states of her publications: "Many relate to Wales, where her credentials as historian were backed up by family connections, a reading knowledge of Welsh, and cordial relationships with archivists throughout the principality" so I think the claim for her being herself Welsh is disputed amongst reliable sources. Can another hook be found? The ODNB has some detail that isn't in the article -- I could e-mail it to you if you can't access it. ETA: A closer reading of the ODNB entry suggests the chair is also incorrect -- she became a reader in 1919 and a professor in 1925, both of which would, as far as I know, be lesser positions than a chair. - That hook works fine for me. However, I still think the statement "one of the first Welsh women to hold a chair at a university" needs to be removed from the article, as I believe both nationality & the head of department being equivalent chair are incorrect. It appears that Espresso Addict removed the line that was bothering him on March 16. I have gone ahead and added more sources and reformatted the article.
