Miruku edit

Is the Yaeyaman fertility god Miruku really to be identified with the bodhisattva Maitreya (as linked by an unidentified user on 16 Feb 2009)? There is no mention of Miruku in the Wikipedia article on Maitreya. There is a reference there to Maitreya's Japanese-language name of Miroku bosatsu, but is the similarity between that and Miruku in the Yaeyaman language any more than a coincidence? -- Picapica (talk) 21:12, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
