The section on "departures from the original" in regard the translation of the book is entirely gratuitous. Translators do not generally adhere to a word-by-word transliteration. Rather, they convey the essence of the matter in a way that makes sense to the new audience. Of course English readers need to know that he was a revolutionary, and the precise name of the song, unknown to English readers, is superfluous. The phrase about the obscenities says the same thing.
