Talk:Worldwar series

Sequel

edit

Turtledove can make a new sequel called Worldwar: Bored to Tears. As the original two series developed, they became more and more boring, covering more and more useless minutia.

Uneasy Peace

edit

The Nazi regime was not destroyed in the war between the Race and the Germans. They are referred to in the novel Homeward Bound. ludahai 魯大海 01:29, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Several times, both the Race and American characters in Homeward Bound make references to the Japanese, the USSR and the Nazis, stating that each had built spaceships capable of travelling to Home. Oranges91 12:39, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Tosev 3

edit

In the article it says that Tosev 3 is so called because it is the third planet of the star Tosev. Could it also be planet 3 of the Race's colonisation by analogy with Halless 1 and Rabotev 2? Soarhead77 16:33, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

No; in one of the Colonization books, there's a clear reference to Tosev 4 as Mars. Afalbrig (talk) 03:29, 1 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal

edit

I propose that Worldwar be merged into Worldwar series. These articles have significant overlap about the same topic, and both need work. DJSparky huh? 05:46, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is an obvious case of duplication. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Worldwar has closed with the go ahead to merge. Any editor can now perform the task of merging. You can use this talk page to discuss how we are going to merge it. Michaelzeng7 (talk) 02:22, 9 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Merge. This should re-direct to the merged article. As for citation for verifiability, I think that will be difficult to do from the books themselves with page numbers since these summaries are so compact. We need to find another source. --Jpbrenna (talk) 20:59, 28 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

The Two Wars in Worldwar/Edit Request 8/5/14

edit
Could there be two new pages made about the two wars that occured in this alternate history timeline? The two wars are the Race Invasion of Tosev 3 (Earth) from 1942 to 1944 and the Race-German War of 1965. Info about these two wars can be found here on Wikipedia aswell as the Harry Turtledove Wiki. --24.147.1.197 (talk) 19:09, 5 August 2014 (UTC)Jacob ChesleyReply

New Map/Edit Request 7/30/2016

edit

Could a new map be made and uploaded to the article? The map that is already on the article has a lot of inaccuracies, which I will make a list below of them. A link of a better map can be found below the inaccuracies of the current map.

Inaccuracies include:

  • New Zealand and Tasmania are shown to be under the Race's control even though they retained their independence after the Peace of Cairo.
  • Every island in the Caribbean are shown to be under the Race's control even though it states that the Race usually stays away from islands.
  • Along with what I said before, the novels said that Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic retained their independence, though probably under American influence. It's also safe to say that the Bahamas, Jamaica, Barbados, and the other smaller islands are still probably under the rule of the British Empire.

Wow, I can't believe I make this request back when I was a simple wiki contributor. Well, after nearly five years, it looks like my old request for a more accurate map has been answered! :) Thank you to Mute0O0 for adding the new map to the page. It looks miles better than the old map for sure! --JCC the Alternate Historian (talk) 21:10, 16 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Lancaster turret

edit

The Avro Lancaster clearly has bulbous, blistering, ball turrets. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.136.43.191 (talk) 18:01, 19 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Cover art and alien depictions

edit

There is big difference between depictions of the Race on the cover art and elsewhere from how they are described in the books. The eye turrets are never shown. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.157.230.53 (talk) 00:14, 7 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
