Classic edit

I'm sure it's a good novel but 'forgotten classics' seems too 'original research' for Wikipedia. Lots42 (talk) 23:33, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Remv the first "forgotten": if it is in print in 2004 it is no longer forgotten.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 20:28, 16 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

"Still available through the Internet" edit

Still in print, actually - it was last republished in 2004, ISBN-13 978-1904010654. DES (talk) 14:02, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

"the fear involved in flying early biplanes" edit

That's mostly bullshit, as for them, their planes were modern. I've read the book and i can't recall any reference by the writer to make such affirmation. --Mezod (talk) 17:48, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Requested move edit

The result of the move request was: page moved. I'll change Winged Victory to point to the dab page to make sure that all of the inbound links are corrected. I fixed a few of them, and don't have time right now to read every article. Once the inbound links are cleaned out, if the stature is clearly the primary topic, the redirect can be changed to point to Winged Victory of Samothrace and not to move that article. There was a question raised about there being a primary topic, so changing that redirect might be best after a discussion. Vegaswikian (talk) 19:40, 27 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Winged VictoryWinged Victory (novel) – This move would allow the Winged Victory of Samothrace to become the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. It is certainly the topic the comes up first in a Google search. See "Winged Victory" -Wikipedia The other stuff that comes up is all over the map. The book isn't even Topic #2. I note that this article is considered a Category: Low-importance novel articles and a Category:Start-Class World War I articles. The statue is a work of art of top-level importance. • Support. Yup, the Winged Victory of Samothrace is most certainly the primary topic. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:33, 20 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • Support We already have Winged Victory (disambiguation) with a play, a film (WW2) & I forget what else. It is also arguable that there is no primary topic & the disam page should take the plain name. But in either case, this should be moved. Johnbod (talk) 02:38, 23 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. The sculpture is by far the more notable of the two. Paul B (talk) 13:39, 23 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Primary topic for "Winged Victory" edit

Page views for April 2011:

Winged Victory of Samothrace 14,386[1]
Winged Victory [novel] 553[2]
Winged Victory (comics) 505 [3]
Winged Victory (film) 376[4]
Winged Victory (play) 320[5]
Winged_Victory_(disambiguation) 187[6]
Nike (mythology) 33,259

If you Google "Winged Victory", the top results are the Winged Victory of Samothrace, the novel, the Winged Victory DAB page, and the film, in that order. From the page view numbers above, I conclude that the novel, the DAB page, and the film are not serious factors, traffic-wise. Since the numbers for the novel have declined dramatically since the page move, it is unlikely that it is even the second place topic at this point. So I suggest making the Winged Victory of Samothrace the primary topic for "Winged Victory".Kauffner (talk) 12:49, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Agree, as above. Paul B (talk) 18:51, 29 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
