In my opinion, I like the way you split up the topic into three different sub-topics because it is very easy to follow. Your comparison of the quantum well laser to a grain of rice allows any reader to relate and thus gain a better understanding of the topic. For a reader who has no idea what a quantum dot is, I feel like a little further detail would help. For example, what exactly is a quantum dot? Reading this, I understand its size and function but would love to know more about what it is composed of.
