Although we do not know much about Will Somers's performance style, we do know that he could sing, was double jointed judging by his appearance in the portrait of King Henry VIII and his family that also includes Jane Foole, and at one time owned a pet monkey, probably a lemur, that was a gift from the King himself (or so I believe). It is fair to assume he used the monkey in his act.Glammazon (talk) 04:17, 29 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Inaccuracies edit

I’m a PhD historian of court fools and wonders at St. Andrews. The ribald etc statement was not said by Sommers but his predecessor Sexton (previously Wolsey’s fool). Chapuys and others refer to him being protected following it. Sommers only appears at court in 1535-6. Should I submit sources showing this and suggesting he was a natural fool and what reference style do you prefer? 138.251.229.142 (talk) 06:35, 6 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
