This story was supposedly front-page news on The Daily Telegraph (Australia) in March 1997: maybe someone with access to the archives could find a URL? HTH HAND —Phil | Talk 13:11, 25 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
There was a large photograph of Carmen on the front page in the Weekend Extra section of The Daily Telegraph on Saturday 15 March 1997 (with the main story occupying all of pages 30 and 31). I have a copy of that issue, and will update the article accordingly (when time permits). GFHandel♬ 22:00, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

I feel the current name/redirect should be reversed, e.g. call this article "Leon Carmen", and have "Wanda Koolmatrie" redirect here (as per "Helen Demidenko" redirecting to "Helen Darville"). Anyone object to this change? GFHandel♬ 22:00, 31 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
