"Nutty"?
editPervasive usage over time - see trove - https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/76199447?searchTerm=nutty%20james# - google books is not a relevant search item for australian political history JarrahTree 11:41, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- How is Google Books "not relevant" for Australian political history? If "Nutty" is a noteworthy nickname for James and not just a pejorative used by his "foes", surely there is a source on the Premier of Western Australia that says so. Based on the tone used in the newspapers you're citing, I'm not convinced the book I linked got it wrong. For starters, where did he get the nickname? Secondly, where in these sources does it say "Nutty" was how he was "popularly known"? If that conclusion is from a few newspaper mentions, it's an original research conclusion. It would have to be tempered into "Some newspapers called him 'Nutty' James" but even then you can see the neutrality issues... czar 01:14, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
