Height
edit- Many sources give the height as 55 feet, but Howell (see Vulcan statue#References), who performed exhaustive first-hand measurements during the restoration, gives the height as 56 feet. --Dystopos 00:20, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
Flesh color
edit"he was repainted flesh color..." Which colour is that?
I didn't actually see it, that's just what the reference said. Probably beige considering the cultural expectations of the time, the place, and the subject. --Dystopos 14:14, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Largest statue constructed in the US?
editChrist of the Ozarks seems to be larger. Pfly 04:21, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- When combined with his "pedestal," Vulcan stands 179 ft, nearly tripling the height of the Christ of the Ozarks statue. Morte42 (talk) 01:43, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
Trivia section
editThe usual editors can see i removed the trivia section and put its information in more appropriate areas. Feel free to move the information as needed but please don't restart a trivia section! Such sections are not considered good style.Trilobitealive (talk) 20:22, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
Gee whiz
editBoy, is that thing funny looking! Perhaps people had disproportionately sized heads in 1904. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.208.39.239 (talk) 06:27, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
- Moretti designed the sculpture to be seen from below. --Dystopos (talk) 13:50, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what's worse: wasting space on a Wikipedia Talk page by making pointless comments about the subject of the article, or using "Gee whiz" as the title header for doing so. Chillowack (talk) 21:39, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
Page preview image
editThe page preview image algorithm should be changed to ensure that an image of the statue itself appears on the page preview, currently, a map of Alabama appears on the page preview. Helenteds (talk) 16:38, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
