Merge discussion edit

Instead of merging the sections "Vostok spacecraft" and "Vostok rocket", we shold consider to write a unified account of the whole family of rockets starting from the ICBM R-7. The Vostok rocket is a member of this family, as well as the Soyuz rocket, that is used to launch the Soyuz spacecraft. It is arguably the single most important rocket family of the history of spaceflight. The Russians are still traveling to the International Space Station on essentially the same launcher, that was their first ISBM, lauched their Sputnik, the first lunar probes and lauched Gagarin! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.99.7.79 (talkcontribs)

Merging the articles is completly pointless as one is the spacecraft and the other the rocket - two completely different things. I'll remove the merging request template from the articles. --Gunter.krebs 06:40, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
