Sameera Reddy

Sameera has been signed in for the project and it has been confirmed by a source close to the actress. Please add her to the cast. [1] Secret of success (Talk) 15:46, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

article split

i think the article must be split (actually, there should be a separate article for the film's Hindi version Vishwaroop). well, if Raavan and Raavanan were not the same article then this can also be like that! Kailash29792 (talk) 10:22, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

Wait till the release of the film. I think the film is being simultaneously shot in both versions with major cast remaining the same. If that's the case no need to have a separate article for the Hindi version. Hey Ram is a good example, where the principal cast was same in both the versions. Raavanan and Raavan had a different cast for both the versions except for a few characters. Vensatry (Ping me) 04:58, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
Its a nonsensical idea, that one, to split articles just because they have a slightly different cast. Secret of success (talk) 06:02, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
It was just a suggestion. This is primarily a Tamil film simultaneously being shot in Hindi (according to the news reports). Different casting definitely has got something to establish the notability, as in the case of Raavanan the lead actor in Tamil was replaced by another actor and he himself was the antagonist in the Hindi version. However, I never said that different set of casting to be the prime requirement for having a separate article. I just don't care whether it makes sense to someone or not. Vensatry (Ping me) 05:16, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

The negativity is that the article gives primary importance to the tamil version over the hindi. not wanting such a point of view, i wanted the article to be split. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:20, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

Your idea is vague! The article gives more importance to the Tamil version because it's primarily a Tamil film directed by a Tamil director. If you cannot find any means of establishing the notability for the Hindi version, it's good to stay with this article alone. Vensatry (Ping me) 07:19, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
There is no justification for a separate article on a difference language version of this film. That would be entirely unprecedented, and quite unnecessary. No other film that is recorded in different languages has separate articles for each.119.224.91.84 (talk) 05:37, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

Cannes entry POV

In Release section we read - "Cannes bent its rules for Kamal Haasan to accommodate his film". Seriously, is this statement endorsed by any official source? A newspaper reporter is not a credible source. Any other official source for this other than that newspaper headline?? If not then it ought to be considered POV Jam2k (talk) 15:53, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Newspapers are undoubtedly authenticated, and their reliability is non-negotiable. The statement shall not be removed. Kailash29792 (talk) 16:16, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Soundtrack split

Hi, I'd like to know if the soundtrack of Vishwaroopam can have a separate article. given there is lot of info on it, and plus the film is a multilingual. so what does everyone say? split or stay? Kailash29792 (talk) 12:15, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

The film has already been released in Malaysia (a Muslim majority country) and received positively [2]. Also, issue seems to be local to Tamil Nadu as neighboring states did not see protests. Don't know why the Tamil Nadu state government has acted upon these allegations and banned a CBFC approved film. Even the Centre has requested the state to stay the ban to no avail [3]. 117.216.101.167 (talk) 21:41, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

the controversies surrounding Vishwaroopam seem to have gone too long, for both the DTH premiere and the Islamic protests. In that case, can we create a separate article titled Controversial issues surrounding Vishwaroopam? Kailash29792 (talk) 15:32, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

Biased Reporting against a Particular Community

Kindly refer to the Introduction paragraph of the movie "Vishwaroopam".It is stated as "Heeding to the requests of Muslim extremist groups, scenes perceived as controversial were removed, allowing the film for release on 7 February 2013 in Tamil Nadu".I think this statement is most unfortunate,as Muslims who are protesting this movie are termed as "extremist".There are representative's of Legitamate Muslim Orgainzation's composing of 24 various Muslim movements, social welfare groups,Poltical party's.This outfit together form the Federation of Muslim Movements and poltical party's.(Please refer to the link below) Each of This Group's have a membership of about one to three hundred thousand muslim members. This 24 organization's are representative's of estimated around 4.5 Million Muslims living in Tamil-Nadu.This Members also included, legaly elected Members of Legistative Assemby of Tamil Nadu Parliment (Please refer to the link below)

I agree. There is nothing in situations above which can be labelled as extremist acts. Some Muslim groups objected to some scenes which is potrayed in this film which is untrue(according to them) which may also leave a black mark on their community. Those people worked for those scenes to be removed from the film and not worked for the film to be banned.I wonder how those scenes get approval from the cencor authority. In Malaysia total 16 scenes were removed from the film(additional 7 scenes were cut later same as Tamil Nadu after some concern from some Muslim organisations.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tan Meifen (talkcontribs) 07:51, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

vishwaroopam Box Office

Vishwaroopam has collected 80 crores till date.

Box office flop

This film is a flop at the box office. Please remove fake records and fancruft. Enthiran and Thuppaki are the only 2 Tamil films present in the "Kollywood 100 Crore Club" so far. Same kind of lies and rumours were spread five years ago for Dasavatharam. This actor does not have a market anymore. Hence, his fanclubs seem to resort to such shameless marketing spin. Actual collections are below :- North India - 14 crore
South India - 17 crore
Tamil Nadu - 45 crore
USA - 5 crore
UK - 2 crore
Malaysia - 1 crore
World - 84 crore
Budget - 95 crore
Loss - 11 crore

TNTOA and DTH issue continues

In Tamil Nadu, this film has been removed now from almost all screens after just four weeks. Just 50 (of 600 opening) screens are playing single or odd shows now. In fact, Vasantha Maaligai (re-release) got more screens (about 100) now than Vishwaroopam. Theatrical box office collection data are lower than Enthiran, Thuppaki and even Dasavatharam. Please add this information.

Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association has put pressure on members to reallocate shows. Remember the DTH issue. It is now under the perusal of Competition Commission of India as Kamal Haasan is suing TNTOA.
