Okay, so NYU owns it now. But what do they use it for? Is it just a museum, or a summer home for the Dean of Students, or what? --68.155.114.155 (talk) 17:50, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

page move edit

To make this page fall in line with the format of articles on NYU's thirteen other global campuses, I propose that this article be moved to 'NYU Florence' or 'NYU Florence - Villa La Pietra'. We can avoid confusion and better explain what the campus is used for, i.e. that it is a fully functional NYU campus as well as a cultural/research center. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MercuriiMaiae (talkcontribs) 16:04, 20 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hmm, MercuriiMaiae, it seems you didn't so much propose it as just go ahead and WP:BOLDly do it. If you'd waited a little you would have seen opposition to your proposal from me at least. Anyway, I've undone your move and your edits. The villa has some 700 years of history (of which NYU has been the owner for 22) and is clearly and demonstrably fully notable in its own right. I suggest that if you want an article on NYU's campus in Florence you go ahead and make one; a title such as NYU Florence suggests itself. I see your point, Justlettersandnumbers. I assumed that we could cover both the villa's history and its current use as an academic centre in a single article. But, yes, we can split the content into two articles. Cheers, MercuriiMaiae (talk) 17:51, 20 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
I think that would work better. Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:06, 20 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
