Other edit

The caption of the map of countries with green in their flags has a category

Other, sometimes representing either lush local vegetation or heraldry

Or heraldry? Is that a SCA joke, or does it mean "repeating some green element of a coat of arms" (and thus passing the buck about what it represents)? I'd delete the word. —Tamfang (talk) 01:19, 17 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

– "Vert" simply means "green" in French. It also is the name of several highly notable places (in France, perhaps for that reason). The meaning as a tincture in heraldry is relatively obscure – certainly not a proper WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. —BarrelProof (talk) 04:39, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • Support per nom; "vert" is also a common abbreviation for vertical -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 05:32, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. "Vert" is also a technical term in snowboarding, etc. In that usage it's actually more common than "vertical". While I'm familiar with the heraldic usage, most English speakers will never encounter that context. 209.211.131.181 (talk) 13:56, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. When the current situation was initially set up, the other pages did not exist. A move seems reasonable in the face of the additional articles. --EncycloPetey (talk) 15:41, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
