The article states that "As of 31 December 2005, there were 558 people with Vatican citizenship, of whom 246 are dual-citizens of other countries (the majority being Italian)" The latter fact (that the majority are also Italian) is rather dubious, considering that over half of Vatican citizens are cardinals and other church clergy from all over the world, which almost certainly all retained their citizenship. I.e. unless all other Vatican citizens are also Italian, I don't see how this statement can be true. Passportguy (talk) 09:51, 24 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

This document], in it's French version, indicates that there are/were ordinary Vatican city passports (at least in 1935). I'm not quite sure the Wikipedia article is correct in the fact that the Vatican only issues diplomatic passports. Passportguy (talk) 10:12, 24 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

There were and there are ordinary Vatican City passports. There are no Vatican City diplomatic passports, since Vatican City does not have a diplomatic service. There are Holy See diplomatic and service passports, but no Holy See ordinary passports, since the Holy See is not a country. Esoglou (talk) 13:49, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
