"over 9,000" vandalism

edit

During the last year, or so, there has been a considerable amount of vandalism substituting "over 9,000" (or similar) for numbers or words. This article uses the number 9,000 and the words "over 9,000" and/or "over 9000". It appears that they may be valid. However, the only reference is the Vancouver Art Gallery's website which states "nearly 9,000", but is copyrighted 2006. Someone more familiar with the facts should verify this number. Further, the article uses both 9,100 and 9,000 in different locations.Makyen (talk) 22:33, 13 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

The first place I looked on the website states "nearly 10,000",[1] however one page does use the words "over 9000".[2] I can't find anything that mentions 9,100. snigbrook (talk) 22:03, 14 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
So we have:
All of which are from the Vancouver Art Gallery's website. It would be nice if they were consistent. In this month they claim "over 10,000 on the 2nd and nearly 10,000 on the 12th (both in press releases). On the other hand, it would be nice if the article was consistent, which it is not. At least we can do something about that. I would say we use "about 10,000".Makyen (talk) 05:28, 16 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Offsite Installations

Might be nice to add something about these.[13][14]--Darryl Kerrigan (talk) 18:34, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Where is Permanent Art Collection?

edit

Just visited VAG and none of the permanent collection was on display only 3 exhibits. 64.46.19.16 (talk) 14:28, 8 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

As with many other art galleries, VAG doesn't have a permanent exhibition to display their collection (part of the reason why they are pursuing expansion is the lack of exhibition space). As with most museums, items from their collection not on exhibit are typically held in storage or loaned out to other institutions/exhibitions. Leventio (talk) 14:43, 11 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
