This article is a mess

This article is very incomplete and paints a jumbled picture. Why all the missing years? And within the years why only mentions of a few quarters and not all? By what criteria do the parks report incidents? Is Disney more dangerous (as the article implies) or do they report incidents the other parks don't? (e.g., dizziness and other minor incidents). What are the parks required to report? Even year to year the information is inconsistent, one year is a list of incidents per park, the next is a lump summation of incidents across the board. And some obvious and note-worthy incidents are not listed. Someone needs to revamp this article and make it comprehensive, I don't know where the data came from but there looks to be a lot more research that needs to be done. 65.120.75.6 (talk) 21:35, 14 December 2007 (UTC)Tim

It's not a complete mess. Well, perhaps a little bit as I see where you're coming from. The nut of it all is that (a) Disney is not more or less dangerous than the other parks, just that there happens to be more info about them; (b) years are missing because that data hasn't been located. Some years had more information available; others were merely what is listed all lumped together. This is a case of "don't shoot the messenger" editing-in-need. Drive for stricter safety regulations

...is under way at the federal level, to close a loophole neglected since 1981. Connected with the Six Flags "Superman Tower of Power" ride accident in Kentucky that severed both of 13-year-old's feet. Needs further info/editing, please. -- Deborahjay (talk) 22:18, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Incidents/Accidents

This page says Amusement park accidents but the incidents articles for example are Incidents at Cedar Fair parks. I think Incidents and Accidents should be consistent.--Astros4477 (talk) 18:17, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

Problem with this article

Not many people will read this Talk page section, but I still feel like mentioning a problem with this article. This article is basically about (US oriented) statistics (about lawsuits and accidents). In my opinion, the article should somehow clarify to the reader - that is, clearly state, possibly at the top of the page, that the goal of the article is not to list amusement park accidents, and point the reader to where these are listed. However, these incidents are listed all over the place, as becomes evident by looking at Category:Amusement park accidents. While listing almost all pages in aforementioned category in the See also section of this article would be an improvement, I think it would be best if the main content of the article would include such an overview. Thank you for being bold. I also strongly discourage listing individual notable incidents on *this* page, but encourage the use of the existing footnoted Incidents pages that are linked instead in order to keep the incident information in a single sourced location in case any updates need to be made (as its easier to update one place rather than two+, and it's hard to identify what would qualify here as "notable" vs not... so why force a judgement call if a suitable page already exists?). If you have non-US oriented info to add, please do so -- chances are some of that info would also fall under either "European park" or a page that has not been created yet due to lack of sufficient content to spin it off on its own.

Does Florida require reporting for big rides?

Roller coaster#Safety says: "Florida exempts parks whose parent companies employ more than 1000 people from having to report any accidents at all" without a reference. By contrast, this article states "All of Florida's major parks [...] report quarterly details surrounding accidents [...]". Unfortunately, the reference here does not confirm that, either. Does anyone know the real situation? — Sebastian 23:01, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

There are a lot of unsourced statements regarding safety in various amusement-park-related articles. Unless sources can be found relatively soon, I would recommend removing them, especially after it's been tagged for a week or so. Cedar Point Windseeker

Would this belong in the article?

I believe this happened back in 2012, when my father and cousins took us to Cedar Point. My father heard that Cedar Point opened up a new Ride named, "Windseeker". So then my dad finally took me to the line to ride the Windseeker, in the hot, hot sun. After about 20 minutes of waiting to ride, I kept looking at the ride, then something didn't seem right about the ride. The ride came to a stop, but when it going back down, it wasn't going as fast as it was. People started leaving the line and so did me and my father. Cannot find amusement park accidents outside the United States

I have tried to search for amusement park deaths and injuries outside the United States on Google, but I cannot find any. Can anyone help me find more accidents outside the United States to help clean up this mess of an article? At the very least, I found a https://bmwlawgroup.com/amusement-park-injury-statistics/ website] that said there were 1,299 injuries from amusement parks in the United States in 2019.
