Opposition to NATO and anti-clericalism as defining qualities of the Union of Socialist Forces edit

Hello,

I have been adding new information with primary sources (i.e., websites affiliated with the components of the Alliance; namely, BirGün and soL) regarding the ideological alignment of the Union of Socialist Forces but said information is repeatedly deleted. Since the Alliance's opposition to NATO and religious influence are two of its defining qualities, I shall add them again along with the relevant sources if there is no informed counter-argument as to why I should not proceed. Thank you for this reply, now I see where you are coming from. Nonetheless, I would still argue that it is better to replace "Marxism-Leninism" with "revolutionary socialism" in that the Left Party (or "SOL Parti") is not a Marxist-Leninist party: it simply does not hail from said tradition. The common ideological qualities of the Alliance (as stated in the founding document) are: secularism (as in laïcité or "militant" secularism), anti-imperialism (especially vis-à-vis NATO) and anti-capitalism. "Progressivism" is a very generic term that does not denote the qualities which distinguish the USF from the Labour and Freedom Alliance: the USF seeks to "disgregate" (dağıtmak) all Sufi cults and Islamic sects, the LFA does not; the USF is against religious attire in public institutions, the LFA is not. It is possible to cite the Kemalist daily Cumhuriyet and even the LFA's Evrensel (affiliated with the Labour Party or EMEP) to underline this difference.

Of course, this is not to say that there are no parties in the LFA which share the positions of the USF; however, the LFA as an alliance does not share these positions: hence the necessity to underscore the differences. For instance, the LFA can be defined as a "progressive alliance" whereas the USF can be defined as a "secular" and "anti-clerical" alliance with pro-LGBT policies and minority rights being common ideological points among the two blocs.
