Last Watch: William Turicik

edit

My Uncle/Godfather William (Bill) Turicik was a Machinist Mate from 1954-1958 on board the "Yo-Yo" as he called it. He passed away in Carlisle, PA on 3 August 2022 at the age of 91.

It was said if you brought Bill an Alien Device, within 10 minutes he would figure out What it is, How it worked and the best way to fix it. Drewshedwick (talk) 17:09, 28 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

My dad Don Pollock, from the stories, was the Captain's Yeoman for a few years, based on his age, probably in the 1952-1955 years since i was born in 1956. He graduated from F&M, THEN enlisted in the navy (couldn't swim ever), turned down OCS to be a Captain, became a CPA. Wa selected by Ed Eshelman (US Congressman Lancaster) as one of 100 CPA's to advise the president on tax matters. ANYWAY there was no info on AD-19, and I understood after it was de-commissioned, was used as a VET rehab center docked at Norfolk, then eventually towed to the middle of the Chesapeake and sunk, no a "mad made" reef for aquatic life......
