USS Permit SSN-594 edit
I was a Navy Officer on the Permit from 1970 to 1974. The statement in the article that the Permit underwent overhaul at Mare Island in 1969 is factually incorrect. To my recollection, the Permit entered the Mare Island shipyard in January 1971. In late 1973 (or early 1974), we temporarily left Mare Island for Bremerton, Washington, where we were based for about 6 weeks while doing some at-sea testing. After finishing the testing, we went back to Mare Island for a short time before leaving for San Diego in early 1974. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lt RWMoore (talk • contribs) 21:58, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
