Navy terminology
editU.S. Navy ships, by tradition, are always referred to as "she" and not "it." The term "it" is demeaning since ships, by tradition, were considered by their crews to have a human nature.
Considering a ship as "it" is an attempt at revisionist history, and not something that should be tolerated in Wikipedia. Wikited 22:24, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
