@EricCable:, per WP:IG, articles are not dumping grounds from random images. Of all the images that were there, only a few should be selected and added to the prose sections. Images selected should compliment the information in the prose and aid in the reader's understanding of the subject. At WT:SHIPS there is current consensus against having lists of commanding officers. Instead, only those that are notable (eg: went on to flag rank and have a bio per WP:SOLDIER) should be added, and even then, not in a list format, but added to the prose section of the ships's history where chronologically relevant. People spend time researching and creating content and that content is in place for a long, long time. But then people like you who seem to think Wikipedia should be the Cliff Note's version of human knowledge stumble upon the article and start hacking at it with a machete while citing "well the majority decided this content doesn't belong and the majority is ALWAYS right." Why do they do this? I guess they have nothing better to. I just wish more people spent time researching and writing and less time restricting and deleting. @EricCable: - Even if I had "some admin friend" willing to do that, just what would they "ban or suspend" you for? Posting a rant on a my talk page? I get it, you're frustrated. But what you need to get is that Wikipedia is a collaborative project. There is a consensus at wt:ships that random lists of commanding officers, most if not all of whom are non-notable, do not enhance a ship's article. Notable commanders, those who are usually deemed as such because they reached flag rank (per wp:milperson) can be added to the chronologically relevant section of the ship's history (typically the period they were in command). If you want to go through the list, find any such notable officers and add them to the prose, go for it. As for the images, wp:ig is a policy that speaks to that and for good reason. The bottom half of this page looked like a dumping ground for every possible image that could be scrounged up and quite frankly made the page look awful and sloppy. I would suggest finding three or four of the best images, ones that correspond to events being discussed in the ship's history and adding them there. But having a hissy fit and posting these ridiculous accusations will accomplish you nothing. - wolf 16:19, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
